Torklift International offers top notch products for the RV, truck and camper industries. They design quality products specifically to resolve common issues and problems.
Steps may seem boring but they provide ease and safety vs climbing into your truck camper. Not having stairs has proven challenging at times especially when Faith injured her arm. We used rock boulders and tree stumps to make the climb into the camper easier. However, the Torklift SmartSteps are a much better solution!
Stair Options:
SmartStep (like what we have)
www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep
SmartStep Stow N’ Go (allows for traveling with steps outside)
www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep
Revolution Uprising Step (mounts inside the door and flips inside for travel)
www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep-...
Revolution (mounts under the camper/trailer)
www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep-...
There are additional “accessories” that can be added: Landing Gear (adjustable feet), Handrail, Locks, Basement Step, SafeStep… You can also add/remove stairs as needed to match your entry height. It’s great having the ability to customize the stairs to fit your unique camper and needs!
We will keep you updated as we test the steps on our upcoming adventures and share additional thoughts and feedback.

Nice, thorough and informative review - thank you. I have installed and used a few Torklift receiver hitches over the years; their products are really well-made and their customer service is excellent. Stonyboot did a nice KZfaq video of the Torklift manufacturing facility, in Washington State, about a month ago that is worth watching.

When I did not tow my trailer I used Glow steps and they were SO NICE!!!!!!! A lot safer then the ones that came with the camper. Then I took the old steps and took them apart into two pieces of three steps each. Then I made steps for when I hauled my trailer. I built a deck for the front of the trailer I towed and three steps from the dirt to trailer and three from trailer to TCer. I was going to get the railing for the Glow steps but sold the TCer before I did that.

Steps can be an issue when your carrying a bike rack and bikes 100% of the time on road trips...there isn't enough room for one of these things to be functional. You gotta have steps, though...otherwise exiting the camper at night can induce injury with whatever half-assed conglomeration is set up. My solution was to have a 2" receiver sleeve welded to the hitch on the drivers side and I've got a Brophy 2 step, works fine and I can keep it on all the time as it hangs no lower that the hitch itself...the only problem is that final drop (and step up from the ground), as it's a bit of a doozy, so I use a tool box there that has all my bike stuff in it. Seems like the ideal distance between steps is 11 inches. I'm going to have a fabricator make a custom copy of the Brophy with a folding up 3rd step...that way it won't be low hanging fruit. Ah, modifications...they seem to never end, right? As soon as you get one thing squared away you dream up another.

True! Bikes can be a challenge. That's not a bad solution... Also a swing out bike rack could work. Or vertical mount bikes on the back of the camper (probably the direction I'd look to do). But overall I like to avoid anything on the rear as it has a tendency to get rather dirty. Let the mods continue! :)

Nice looking stairs, I'm considering them. So you take them off every time you move? And store them where?

Yes! Will do an update video soon. We mounted another mounting bracket inside the door of the camper. Rather simple to remove and set inside the door and insert the pin into the bracket.

We’re all getting old (er). I’d want a handrail alongside the steps for windy days because they extend quite far from the camper door. They must be made safe for people over 70.

Yep! They do offer handrails... although we won't need that for a bit! :)

On forklift it recommends 5 steps for our set up. We have Silverado 8 inch lift with 37.5 tires. How tall is your lift and tire size. I see you are using 6 steps thanks

Their calculations are correct for step count. We are on 37s with ~4" suspension lift.
