Scratches are not usually a problem of the brush nor of new vacuums. It's the wheels that are the issue, especially worn out ones, ones that don't turn easily anymore, and ones that are dirty with materials that could scratch like sand. Brush as well though if it's picked up something, especially those metal twisty ties for bread bags. A durable maneuverable wheel, good clearance so the bottom of the vacume doesn't hit the floor if bumpy tile, etc. I swear it's usually the worn out wheel doesn't roll/swivel anymore scratches the floor and we never replace them, just the vacuum as a whole

Many thanks for this video and the huge amount of work required to make it ! I have a polished style tile (type 2 in this video) and it's really a pain to clean it without doing any visible marks 😮‍💨 Maybe another video on the best vacuum robot for shiny/polished tiles (or multiple types) ? That would be awesome ! 🙏

Unfortunately I have to critique that this was a sorely missed opportunity to extol the virtues of a simple straight suction canister. Functionally one of the best types of machines for any hard floor as they have no spinning brush and therefore pose zero risk of damage and are inexpensive and easy to use.

i don't think he owns enough of them to properly test or demonstrate that. I'm assuming he's a US based channel and the large majority of people over here use uprights or cordless vacuums, I've never known anyone with a canister. I'm with you though, would've been nice to see a henry or miele c3 here with premium hard floor tools.

@@dbman992 I know for a fact he does own a Henry and I believe a couple other canisters. I think that kinda should also tell you he’s really skimping on a big subclass of vacuums despite being a vacuum review channel. He most certainly has the resources to purchase a couple canisters to boot, and while there isn’t the variety of europe, america certainly has plenty of offerings.

@@AfterDark33 oh I agree, he definitely should. But he's most definitely at least partially in this for the revenue and no one who watches his vids is looking for a Henry or Miele or sebo canister. I mean even shark his favorite brand has a canister and he hasn't reviewed that because he knows the views would most likely drop.

What virtues? They're abysmally terrible at their job. I've got a miele on the recommendation of a supposed "professional" and it's the worst waste of money I've ever bought, it literally does not do its job. There's a reason that channels trying to compare even a basic Shark to a top of the line Henry have to resort to blatant cheating by lifting up and hand-feeding the Henry while deliberately avoiding debris with the Shark. Suction only canister vacuums are for hotels that want to pretend to clean things, suck up the bare minimum of obvious dirt, and leave the place filthy still.

Canisters, backpacks, or central vacs with a bare floor brush would do a better job. Especially wet/dry vacs. I wouldn't use a upright or a stick vac for bare floors.

This video leaves out so many options for hard floors. Canister vacuums? Upright with attachehments? Call me old school but I still find that if I use my Kirby with it's hose and one of the two floor brushes (yes, I prefer the pre G series tools better) or a cansiter with a horse hair brush or some of the other floor tools avialable for Miele and Sebo machines. This video due to what you tested should be titled "Best Stick Vac Tile Floors" as that was all you tested. You only showed non stick vacs in your scratch testing. Seeing them tested in the video would be better than a long list.
@Soundsaboutright42
@Soundsaboutright42 Жыл бұрын
Well, I think he shows that at the end of the video. Soft rollers in general are better. Even better than that is when they have detachable heads to go in-between what you need. In general vacuums for JUST carpet don't work well on hard floors, especially tile with the grout and unevenness of tile. Vacuum technology has gotten further than canister and upright with attachments for hard floors. You wanna use your Kirby with attachments? Go for it. He's just letting us know his opinion.

What about a Henry, Miele or a Sebo with just a traditional hard-floor tool? The above brands are just a few there are so many other good vacuums out there you do not focus on. I feel like you leave out a lot of great vacuums that people should be educated about. Disposable vacuums such as Shark are not a good answer.

I think in one video he said he got sponsors from Shark. But, I agree, he should do vacuums like Henry, Miele or Sebo, or heck, even Oreck. The lesser known higher tier brands of vacuum need to be featured on this channel if we're really going to have a comprehensive overview on what other options of vacuum there are besides Bissel, Dirt Devil, Hoover, Shark, and Dyson.
@superslash7254
@superslash7254 Жыл бұрын
All of those are not great vacuums, they're truly awful vacuums that are virtually useless unless you sit there picking up debris and dirt by hand and directly placing it into the mouth of the tube yourself. They're very popular with "professionals" because they're excelling at the kind of zero effort super-fast "make it look clean but it's actually still dirty" bullshit that hotels and cleaning companies excel at. There's a reason that the channel that's one of their biggest proponents literally had to blatantly lie and cheat in a video comparison of a basic shark with a Henry, resorting to things like lifting the Henry up and setting it down on each and every piece of debris to hand-feed the vacuum while blatantly swerving the shark to AVOID picking things up and using the wheels to crush and grind things into carpet on purpose.

Cut the Vacuum War team some slack, they’re American so they’re familiar with the American vacuum market. I assume Top of the line European brands like Sebo and Miele aren’t very familiar to them, but hopefully they do start reviewing some of those, they’re great machines. And they have done a Henry review before PS Sharks are only disposable if you don’t take care of them like you should any other vacuum

Technically the only vacuum with a beater bar is the Sanitaire you used in the video - the brush roll has rasied bumps on it that beat the carpet - not good for any carpet actually, but they keep using that ancient design to this day.

Thanks for the video with focus on tile! I'm very happy with my Shark Vortex I got based on one of your reviews (I first got a Tineco then returned it because I don't have the patience to change heads for each surface). However, I've been a bit disappointed with the performance of my Tineco vacuum mop. I realized that all of your tests were on uniformly flat surfaces, you didn't show how they would perform on tile and grout. It would be great if you could do an updated vaccum mop review including tile. It would be nice to find something that can handle old/dried sticky messes in the tile grout...

Will you be doing a test on the quantum x?
@MaryB_TN
@MaryB_TN Жыл бұрын
I think he may have a while ago if you search his videos. However, here's a first-hand review. I got the Quantum X in September 2021. I've loved the concept of water filtration vacuums since the 90s, and the Q was a less expensive option. At first I loved it! It's definitely powerful with great suction. But then, I started becoming disenchanted. It's super heavy, has no carry handle to help distribute the weight, and I can not carry it upstairs and downstairs. So I was stuck with a one floor only vacuum, which wasn't practical. Then, the water basin got badly stained and clouded from using Quantum's own fragrances. I took excellent care of it and emptied and washed the basin after every use, but it still got all stained. Orhers have said the same. Then, the rubber piece that holds the hose outlet cover broke. The attachments are not great. The last time I used it, it randomly shut off even though the digital screen showed that it was still connected to power. The only way I could get it to come back on was to pit it locked into upright position, then turned it on. It was a total waste of money given the issues. The only positive I can say is that the suction is incredible. But many other high suction vacuums out there without the added headaches. I got the Sirena water filtration canister vacuum last September, and it runs circles around the Quantum. I do love it, but it's cumbersome, so I just ordered the Shark Stratos Upright AZ3000. It has both upright and canister versatility, so I'm hopeful. Hope this helps!!
