In this month's episode, I would like to look at watches from the 1940s and 1950s with watches ranging from interesting early Omega and JLC watches to highly advanced chronographs from Hanhart and Dodane to a true icon of watch design from Rolex.

Nice video once again, thanks for the great content. A couple of video ideas that I believe you may be able to cover: Gerald Genta designed watches, in particular lesser known models, did he design Bulovas, Seikos etc or are those unfounded rumors? Ownership structure of the big watch houses, eg Richemont, Swatch, LVMH, Rolex etc Microbrand market strategies, in particular financing models, crowd funding, positives and negatives (servicing, warranty) etc. Cheers and keep up the great content.

thanks so much Armand, your really deep analysis delivered simply and very like able. I've learned to appreciate all the watches for each model regardless of brands, The one on Aneglus and Old 50s 60s and 70s chronos are my fave, and thanks for so much variety. Maybe you could do one on different Valjoux 72s?, so many good brands, you could have like a mini section and review one brand each week and their different Valjoux 72's. There are also military and so many top brands. again many many Thanks Armand. you should have a watch channel with the BBC.. they would love it.

Another nice presentation, thanks Armand. It's easy to forget that that these watches from the 40's have very poor shock protection, so not really something to wear very much. My watchmaker had a 40's Hanhart chrono and commented that the movement and watch are not that well constructed and use cheaper metals to keep costs down. Collecting these watches is one thing, wearing them is another. Hanharts are only for the dedicated collector, many are worn and in poor condition, with parts hard to come by and expensive to repair.

Great video full of useful information. Might it be worth mentioning servicing costs and availability of parts? Due to the age of some of these pieces it can start to add up. So should be factored into the cost of the watch overall.

I may have had an Omega back in the 1970’s, heard of the Rolex, who hadn’t, hadn’t heard of the others.

Hi Armand , the silver Omega shown at 2.30 minutes into the video looks repainted .perhaps you could do a video showing viewers who are new to the hobby what to look out for. Great video as always.

Great video as usual. Just a point that may interest you; the arrow you mention on the military omegas is known in the British forces as a 'Crows Foot'.

Jardur, G.P, Universal Geneve compax, Benrus sky cheif ( valjoux 72 but also other movements?), Rolex daytonas, Enica Sherpas, r, Gallet MC 12, Minerva D712, and Breitling. I would love your deep Analysis on these with respect to finishing, adjustments or lack there of in the movements), ...

Hello, i have an omega chronograph cal 33.3 i think is from the 40' because of the serial number. May be is made for doctors because on the top you can read base 30 pulsations. If you have some information please let me know. James from argentina

Great information, but making me stare at the same picture for such a long time is boring. I wish you had shown a lot more pictures showing more examples.
