This my first time going viral with public interaction, my take aways from my experience and tips : 1. make it a series. it was really easy to make 120 videos of this because Once we figured out a viral formula it was rinse and repeat. 2.Like Nic said make sure you’re the focus of the video. Easy way to do that is public performance. Mine is more focused on the dancer. I’m from NY so I wanted a NY dance song cause it’s a huge thing here in the clubs. But in the future we’re working on making me the focus and the music the focus. - but we did make a good amount of money off tik tok and youtube. So sometimes the win isn’t streaming numbers sometimes it’s the overall brand awareness and money made from other things. 3. Preview multiple songs with the idea. I did my one song 100 times because it kept working but I wish I had another one that fit the mold ready to rock as an instant follow up. I would have been able to keep the momentum up for longer 4. KZfaq shorts translated the best for us streaming wise. Post every banger video there. Tik tok is our testing ground for ideas. And i’m still trying to figure out my ig.

Love everything you are doing and love the advice, especially from someone who has tried, tested and is living his there own advice! You have been a godsend! been doing my music for many years as a one man metal band and recently got back on the horse. It is SOOOO! true in what advice you give, the music does not really matter on social media, and being to salesy dosent work and telling people to check you out. As you pointed out NO ONE wants things shoved in there faces. THANK YOU! for being able to change my mindset and making promotion of my brand and music SOOO much easier to make content now. The ways you advised have actually sparked NEW creativity for myself and would 100% say this would do for EVERYONE! Stay safe, Stay well, and stay Nic D. Truly Truly AWESOME! Dude, these are seriously helpful. Thank you so much. Currently at 60K monthly listeners, and I've been between 60-80 for the past year and a half. I've never released consistently, I never make the song with the content in mind first, and I've had multiple viral moments with different video ideas, but they never translate into a series. Going into 2024, me and my team have really flipped the schedule. We are releasing monthly with 2 weeks being spent on the song and 2 weeks spent on content for it. At least for now, I am sticking with making the song first and figuring out the content around it, but I am open to spend some time trying otherwise. Looking at my vidoes, they are all pushy with the song title, desperately trying to convert into streams. My most successful song came from just freestyling in public; no asking, no directing, just "here is this moment", and it hit. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I'm not sure I would've connected those dots on my own.

I have just seen you have the Audio Book 📘 👍😊 as part of your ebook package. Is there any chance of just selling the Audio❓ I don't get time to read. I like to learn by listening 👂 to KZfaq videos whilst doing boring hum drum jobs in the kitchen. I will need to convince my other half to buy the audio for me as my small business got attacked years ago, so I am having to start all over again. But the upside is it's been a learning curve along the way with a lot of health and educational benefits. There is a lot to be grateful for 🙏♥️. And I got to Home Educate my daughter, which was a great joy. I look forward to seeing the Miniature Cows 🐮 if you get them for your wife. My daughter wants one. Her boyfriend is a farmer in Cornwall 🇬🇧. She plans to build a Hobbit House and just make a living from drawing and singing. 🖌️🎨 🎵🎶. That's the dream. 💭 So mums has a lot of work to do to make it happen, starting with your audio book. 😄

Hi Nic! I found an interview of yours and blew my mind. Thanks for sharing all that useful info. Id like to know if your book and podcast will help me in my case, as I am working on my music as a deep and tech house dj/ producer. In this style I do not use lyrics as a base for my songs which I understand lyrics help to connect better with listeners. My style is more a little bit underground so kind of the opposite of mainstream which is what bringing more eyes and ears in social media. Thanks for your help brother! If you release a course on how to succesfully navigate music business and make a good living, im sure lots of ppl would sign in, including me.

Hey, Wanted to share a few thoughts. First, thank you so much for sharing insight and your personal experience. What you've been able to achieve is honestly cool af. So I'm a hip hop artist sitting on music I'm excited to share in the coming months. That said, watching this video left me feeling confused and a little overwhelmed. Prior to pressing play on the video my approach was going to be release music and engage online (pretty simple). However in the video (around the 8:40 mark) you said don't release music without pairing it with content, and if you don't have an audience, then whats the point. I felt personally called out 😂 This perfectly describes my music career 😅 Then you continue on to say music should be created base on a marketing strategy first. Bit of a "chicken and egg" situation here. Anyway, I'm back to square being unsure what to do. I appreciate you videos but this left me in a place of not knowing what to do next.

I liked the video although the only option given was the public stunt option. Is it possible to go out on other options like Conner Price video style or other content creators that were able to convert due to great marketing ideas? Im a portuguese content creator on tiktok and have arround 73k followers on tiktok but only about 70 listeners on tiktok. Im able to create engaging content but the only thing I haven't been able to do yet is to convert to listeners on spotify. What am I doing wrong?
