Forgot to mention, just as you can repair weapon mods with Multitool, File and Ramrod, you can repair some of the Armor materials with Armor repair kits, Sewing Kits ect. Also, all of those bigger toolkits, like army toolkit can maintain barrel from any condition, but you lose a charge. JUST CLICK THE FUCKING DETAILS :)

With 0.91 you dont need to pay or talk to technician to use a workbench anymore. You can just walk to it and use it. Also you can rightclick tools in inventory and use it without workbench at all. On the go. Anywhere at the map. That is very useful with ammo creation kit. Part to create ammo weight is alot less than ammo weight. So you disassemble unwanted ammo and craft ammo when you become low on them. Also you can receive first set of tools for 20 nemiroff vodka at Yantar givin vodka to local food merchant. And you can get another set of basic tools by completing Hip's first quest in Rookie village (quest for bringing her a TOZ shotgun and some buckshot) IMaybe I missed that point in the video but lvl 3 toolkit only can be found in zones above Army Warehouses - Limansk, Red forest, Radar etc. Also there is a mod in MCM menu called Autolooter. It can be configured to automatically strip and grab all usable parts, so you just open a body and press ALT (by default when autolooter is on) and it grabs all stuff, strip 60%+ weapon parts, and you can even tell the mod to autodisassemble guns with 60%+ barrels and armors that have 50%+ parts (armor parts repair threshold is lower than weapons) or parts that can be used in crafting.

you can also right click onto a weapon and then favorite parts> favorite parts that are below 60%, then the parts you need are favorited and have priority in the auto looter by opening the loot menu and pressing left-alt, favorite parts will appear on top of your own inventory if looted , the autolooter is great for people that are new to the game because its basically looting all the things that can be useful for you and leaving broken stuff behind , this is for items and parts , if you want to use a weapon to rebuild then first loot the weapon before you press left alt when looting

This is an Excellent video! I'm amazed at how simple you made this seem with a few great tricks like using the cheaper repairing oils as the part condition increases. It's one thing to know it but to convey the steps the way you did is great!

If you don't mind using charges of the >10 kits, maintaining parts while they're still in the gun also increases overall weapon condition.

I wonder, if in the 0.9.1 bulid, the cheapest headgear - facerag, or whatever it was called, still is used as repair supportive material. In GAMMA build 0.9 facerag was OP supportive material, better than kerosene or tarpouline. It had a highest % repair boost with every gun cleanng kit or armor sewing kits. In 0.9 i ended up just scavenging guns with 60%+ condition barrel, than i just swapped the other gun parts for 60%+ replacements. Rest of the repairs i've done through the "maintain parts" option, using up the >10% gun cleaning kits charges. This way, not only the each separate part condition, but overall gun condition also was restored. The files, ramrods, steel wools and industrial grease i was using for crafting expensive repair kits, this way i didn't have to buy them. I would say, that even from the start, what i was doing, is the most streamlined way to get a really good gun restored quickly.

Finally! A guide that actually goes through the details of freaking repairs! Been a bunch of trial and error and I keep on not understanding what just happened Thank you so much!

I always use a rope before duct tape when repairing armour. They have the same repair bonus and ropes are way easier to come by. I think I have 20+ ropes and maybe only 5 or 6 duct tapes. Late game, when you have enough containers I often use hammers who has a +5 repair bonus.

Thanks a lot, I am not somebody who played vanilla anomaly to completion or got into many of the systems like crafting because it didn't seem necessary, so overall I have no clue what I am doing for most of these mechanics even in the vanilla game but you explained everything perfectly. Just like that fellow in the beginning, I have been putting off playing this because all the tutorial videos are like an hour+ and/or extremely vague or poorly explained.

i did not see this in the video but there is even another way to repair a barrel , and it does not matter what % the barrel is , as long as you have the correct toolkit for the weapon you can right click the weapon maintain parts>replace barrel, this will basically delete the old part and give you a 100% at the cost of one charge of your toolkit , as said in the video use this with caution because the toolkits are your keys to progressing in this game and if the charges are at zero the toolkit is deleted meaning you need to find or craft another toolkit

Holy shit. I have 300+ hours in GAMMA and I didn't know about the part swap....

When you use the weapon cleaning kits to maintain parts that are installed in the weapon it also increases the weapon cleanliness by 10% this can be used to get you out of the expensive repair range easier if you repair the parts through "Maintain parts" before increasing the weapon overall cleanliness.

Finding out you dont need the repair cuts to replace parts is absolutely game changing for me. Was also such a drawback for me!

When crafting kevlar plates or whatever items for the belt, or backpacks, etc. the condition of the materials used does not matter ( even like 1% parts count ), so it is best to never sell armor parts.

Masks and bandanas give most cost effective bonus when used with glue ect. for armor repair in my experience. They are abundant (more so then duct tape) and give higher bonus (I think... I modded some values for myself, but I do not think I changed those).

I'm new to Gamma, but I immediately started looking at the repair system in terms of vendor value. Since you can always get various repair tools from vendors, and they sell them pretty much at stated values, you can think of many repairs as cost per percent. For example steel wool, in terms of value, might be unnecessary. It is around 800 from vendor and gives around 8 = 100 per percent. Not terrible, but sharpening stone is 35 per percent when fixing multitool. So when in comfort of a base with vendor some combos might be better. In emergency you might be limited by number of uses left in tools thought. Also the cost of replacement parts from vendors is very high, especially for lower tier common ones - but always do the math, I think in some cases buying this part from vendor might be better

Thank you for making this, the other guides i've seen on this topic were a mess and made it really hard for me to understand the repair system back when I started. Also, don't mind the gatekeepers i've seen in your comments, stalker fans are weird.

Free workbench access is only useful early game when you have no tools but want to repair something like the overcoat, basic military armour, or a pistol. Once you have any toolkit you won't need a workbench at all. Simply right click on any toolkit (basic, advanced, expert, gunsmithing, drugmaking), select "open workbench" and you'll have access to the crafting/repair/upgrade menu. Also higher tier tools will include low tier tools in them; that is, Advanced tools will also contain Basic tools. So you only need ever carry the most advanced toolkit you can find.

Has anything changed since then? I can't "maintain parts" without the appropriate repair kit, it seems. The option isn't available to me, when right clicking on the weapon. Great tutorial though. Still have to watch it occasionally to remember how things work and what the most efficient strategies are.

Weapon condition has changed in GAMMA 0.9.1. Weapon condition is no longer separate from part condition. Replacing parts in a workbench with 100% parts will end with the weapon being 100% condition. I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended.

all the stashes are empty, how do you get stashes? Do you have to do missions? Ive been playing for days, but my weapons suck and missions are impossible with a sawed off and a pistol... so i need better guns, to get better guns i need toolkits, to get toolkits i need to do missions, but my weapons suck so bad they are impossible, lol.
