Santa Margherita is truly beautiful, the buildings are fascinating with painted panels on their walls, very grand looking. It took us around 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the harbour area. Plenty of bars and restaurants and lovely beaches along the way, quite pebbly but with clear waters. The hotels private beach was clean with plenty of sun loungers. We went straight up to the roof top terrace when we arrived which had a heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. We spent a good few hours there having fun and drinking cocktails, well worth doing! We paid for breakfast in the hotel which was nice with a good variety of foods to eat and drink. We stayed here due to the close proximity to Portofino; the bus to Portofino stops right outside this hotel and costs around 3 euros and takes around 10 minutes. The boat over to Portofino is located at the harbour and takes around 30 minutes and costs around 7 euros one way. We booked three rooms, my room, room 130 seemed to be the largest with a wrap around balcony double the size of of the other rooms, with fantastic views of Santa Margherita.
