Buy 6 of them. Take the 8 wheels off the extra 2 dollies and then put 2 on each of 4 dollies to add support to the center. That should help spread the load for moving around and support the weak/stress points.

I can't disagree that these dollies are a bargain for what you need, but from a safety point, they are just not suitable. There is just too much lateral stress on the wood as you push the vehicle and the screws or nails that hold it together will not give you the margin of safety that you need to hold up 3000lbs or more. Better still to get the ones, even the cheap ones, from HF made of steel. And I agree, it is not easy to push and move these vehicles by yourself, given the wheels that come with these dollies. The casters do not easily follow the direction that they need to point to for one to easily maneuver around the garage.

I thought about doing this but watching this video. After hearing the wood creak and strain, I think I’ll spend extra for metal wheel dollies.

They worked great for my 1967 Porsche!!! But the 1967 Firebird is about 1500 more than the Porsche

That's probably works in a compact all plastic modern cars. But that's a good quick solution for a tied garage

If you don't need to move the car around much, you can just buy 2 of the dollies and move the rear end first. I leave the jack in the middle lifting some of the weight off the dollies. The jack can roll and the dollies will roll better if less weight on them. Get a good ratchet strap and you can attach to your workbench or wall and the car to move the rear end. Then put the dollies on the front tires and leave the jack in the middle and ratchet the front where you want it.

I have these and use them for moving transmissions, and small block engines. They have a duty rating of 500 pounds. I'm all for saving money, but this is a dangerous move. And yes, I've done plenty of sketchy things. You can get the steel ones at northern tool for $49 a pair on sale and with to the $20 off a $100 purchase makes is roughly $80 for a set of 4. Love the Pontiac BTW 😀

The 18x12 in have a work frame load rating of 1000 pounds, the casters are 500 pounds per wheel. same work load rating as the metal haul masters. I would run a furring strip along the ends though to keep the tire centered. I think he's fine, I wouldn't get under it though, and think the haul masters would be better.

I've used these for that. Sweeping the floor helps. Even something small slows the welheels

They worked good tip! Loving the Pontiac rally wheels, does the trunk deck have two holes drilled in it on the right hand corner? They look like the holes for a “400” badge.

Take off the wheels and bolt to some2by 4s at least. My volume was off and i still heard that dolly scream😂

Hello great video man . Really needed to find this gem with what little cash im working with this seems like a good possibility. i have a quick question though. My bmw 335i was recently victim to the cold streets of SanJose CA. and was left on bricks all four rims with tires gone.. don't know how they did it so quickly and for me to wake up to that when I'm beraly getting by it was a blow to the stomach but yeah my question is you thing this would work for me My car weights 3,946 lbs ?

Don't think it's worth it. The furniture dollies are $48-$60 set 4. 1000lbs cap. each, wood Basic metal car wheel dollies $100- $130 set 4. 1500lbs cap. Each, metal with a locking wheel
