Brilliant video as always Patrick. I stayed in Belfast (Bellers) 3 to 4 times a month for 20 years when I was working and stayed in all your choices except the Ireton (never heard of it but I'm retired four years now). For me, it doesn't really matter what your hotel is like when you are in one of the best cities in the world! My (Dutch) wife even prefers it to Dublin (yeah weird I know) but that gives an impression of how cheeky a place it is if it's comparable to Dubbers! Thanks again - keep them coming!

Well, you're the expert in Belfast hotels, in that case! The Ireton was originally marketed as student accommodation near Queen's, I learned, but that didn't take off and they (re)presented it as a hotel (open to correction). Belfast can be great craic and the food scene has really up and come in the past few years. Some great places to try out in the future too.

Wow, this was an eye opener. The Malmaison seemed a very disappointing experience considering it was the most expensive. The Ireton just came across as bizarre. As you said, attention to detail is very important and says a lot about how a hotel wants to present itself to its guests. Out of all of them, I think the Ramada came out on top. Thanks for your very honest review!

I agree the Ramada was the best and at £44 (room only) was a steal. I checked the prices yesterday, and it's still in the mid-50s for a typical mid-week night. I do like the Malmaison brand and have had good experiences elsewhere. They definitely had a few issues.

We usually stay in benedicts whilst in belfast.... quite good value

I almost booked Malmaison. After this review, I'm glad I didn't. You were fortunate when singing into the fan that you didn't choke on the dust. :)

Hahaha! It was fine on precious occasions, just a bad experience last time. I wouldn’t return - lots of great options in Belfast luckily!

Great thanks Patrick. Years ago I stayed at a budget hostellry (not in Belfast) and ended up being bitten on the legs, it was unnerving@@PlanetPatrick
