In the Hodinkee interview today FHB credited the cross over with pop culture as growing the brand with youth. Very interesting to hear how they increased sales in the US with this strategy. It is a fine edge to walk I suppose.

RM, maybe. If you think AP is headed in that direction, you have no idea what youre talking about. AP has history, quality, and a VERY, VERY strongcustomer base

💯 RM didn’t even show up at Dubai Watch Week - like he’s already semi/retired and just mailing it in. Sad - because he had a string of huge hits.

I don’t always agree with Eric but this episode is spot on! 🎉AP is heading down the Hublot route and PP is doing the Frank Muller? RM hype is now gone.

Thx for the drop and Happy Holidays. I think you nailed it. I’d add the ‘sporty’ Calatrava - sure PP needs something to attract the younger crowd - but that design is underwhelming (being nice - lame) and at $39k a joke. I’m buying a used Daytona and Batman for that $$$

AP Royal Oak Offshore ,End of days, , limited to 500 pieces, was a nice one too....and the full ceramic black 42, because black is my happy colour! Merry christmas

1st of all, don't hate on the watches as chokers. The rainbow watches teach us we can identify a watch as a choker or a hippopotamus, whatever makes us happy, or gives us attention (is it the same?). 2nd, I couldn't agree more on the AP collabs. 3rd, Phillip Sterns face is at least important to the watch industry, unlike Spiderman and Travis Scott's death cult moon phase. But, it shouldn't either be on the dial.

YM titanium is genius. Makes sense to have a lightweight sailing watch for the actions a sailor does on deck. AP... *smh* spiderman wtf? Joke of a watch making a joke of the brand.

Eric, I get that the core of your business is based on brands that sell, but I don't understand the appeal with Rolex, AP, and especially RM. To me they are extremely boring and their designs are the same BS. I would never own a Rolex, AP or definitely a RM. Why don't you feature brands that are truly unique with solid designs and history?

Watch Eric ONLY focuses on super premium watch brands where he can maximize margins on large purchases. He is not into horology but into maximizing profitability on a sale. Eric just unsubscribed and good luck. There are many watch geeks who review the pantheon of the watch industry not 4 super expensive brands.
