The truck drivers who supply the lost cities of the Himalayas play the tightrope walkers on passes at 4000 meters altitude; they graze parishes and precipices flat out on roads barely wider than their engines.

Everyone in the USA should see this documentary. What is remarkable about so many Indian people is their optimism. Instead of complaining about the cold, they focus on how happy they will be when they see grandma again. We can learn so much from them.

Salute : - 1. To the Makers of this Beautiful Documentary . 2. To the People who live there. 3. To the Drivers who deliver essentials there . 4. To the hardships these people have to face . Best part is these people are living together without the use of cellphones which is parting people nowadays . They don't talk because of them (cellphones) . Even the people who live in Himachal can't afford to risk their lives by travelling on these roads .

Ahh sure only for a cell phone I couldn't have watched this amazing documentary. Seriously though, Well Done to each and everyone for participating in and those involved in its making of this documentary. You are all incredible people. A big shout out to the monks for all their devotion to peace, prayers, and the happiness of others. Also the driver who risk life and limbs to deliver food supplies to that remote village and the parents with their little girl who walked the in the freezing snow on the final part of their arduous journey home. Those young boys whose joy was their freedom (at the end of a week of boarding school) to climb as fast as they could for two hour up a steep mountain side to home I solute you one and all. A wonderful documentary thank you all ❤🙏.

Nothing is easy here and the mountains are really ruthless and have no mercy. Thanks to the constituion of India which has gaurded and preserved the identity of these people residing in these tribal areas.

I am from the state of Maharashtra in India, I often hear people say that the north and the east is not developed and all, but I don't think they know the hardship these people go through just to survive. We in the south and the west are so lucky to have such good landscape and weather. God bless them with love and prosperity. May India prosper immensely and wholly so that our such hardworking people get better infrastructure and a better life they deserve.

@@arturodesanturo1348 "Humble in the sense of law-abiding ..." . - I understand the comrade who asked a clarifying question. The author's phrase: - "humble attitude from the people", - is ambiguous to the point of danger misunderstanding. Maybe the author didn’t mean anything bad, but the translation into Russian turned out to be ambiguous. The word "humble" has not only the meaning of "kind" or generous, but also "submissive", "humiliated", "poor". . The English occupation of the country ended long ago - we must look for other words for these people who defended their independence - "proud", "independent", "free".

What's to appreciate about the backwards direction India takes consistently away from the common sense healthy happy life of the Grandparents. Shame on the Pride of Indians to blindly follow the blind Western materialistic mentality. Sure India is lame technologically but the West is blind spiritually. Together works okay... The blind carries the lame and gets direction from the sight of the lame, where the lame benefits from being carried ..... Think it over. Hare Krishna

Ten years ago I went to the Spiti valley, from Manali. Years before I was there to do the same but rainfall kept the road closed. It’s even more impressing then the road to Leh. Beside unbelievable nice walks, you can visit the oldest Buddhist temple in India. Also I stayed in a monestary on top of a mountain. There was no need for making reservations in any of the places I visited. Besides the giant scenery made me feel so very small it also made me feel to be on the top of the world. At places where rivers were just wildly crossing the road, the driver told us (I rented a 4x4 together with a Australian and French guy I met in Manali) to get out of the car and climb over the rocks upstream while he drove the car through the water. He did not want to risk our lives as well. A falling stone demolished the rear window of our Tata. And when it got really scary we played the new album of Daft Punk. Awesome trip. Don’t go there when you are short on travel days. Anything could happen.

I get stressed just watching how dangerous and terrifying these mountain passes are. I find myself holding my breathe just watching what they have to drive and live through. Staying awake through those stressful conditions for 15 plus hours is stressful enough and will ware you out but driving under those circumstances is a billion times worse, people don't realize just how much this drains your body. Most people couldnt drive for 15 minutes with that kind of stress without sleeping for a week after. They are amazing, they definitely do not get enough credit or pay, they should be the highest paid in the country for that journey. Good luck and God bless your daily journeys

in midst of comfort and ease of urban lifestyle, we forget being human and good human qualities are eroded. Something to ponder with, even with Kaza's small 20 families, its a very close community where they can depend on each other. If they are brought to urban life style they might not be close and dependable anymore. I do think their forefathers already figured this out many many decades back. Even today they despise a comfortable urban life. Beleive me one winter one of us cannot spend with them.

Living between Hindu Kush and Hindi Raj range of Pakistan, It looks like traveling to my own Village in the mountain. Both Pakistan and India have to open the closed door of trade with each other. We have fed up from both media and our politicians who tried their best for hatred except nothing. Knowing the language of Hindi which is close to Urdu, I can feel their love and sympathy which each other excluding Religion, Race, or Appearance. Love from Pakistan. Long live India

There is hardly any difference between India and Pakistan either w.r,t. culture or language. I can easily understand your Urdu just like Hindi in India but my mother tongue in South India is Tamil, which you may not understand because that is an ancient language. But if you start eating food , visiting places even in Southern India you will find just like it is in your country. In India you have combination of wet and dry regions hot and cold and plain and hills all are contrasting. In another 10 years hopefully India and Pakistan will have free movement across the border and Europe will then look like a barbarian land Both countries will benefit tremendously. That is exactly what the West does not want to happen.

Beautifully captured documentary on life of Indians in Himalayas through eyes of truck drivers...i have sometime worked in badrinath area and the roads from Delhi were all like this if not worse! But that was two decades back, and now I hear it's better...still mountains offer their own peace and tranquility and it's nicely brought out in this vedio....thank you,the photographer's and narrator to editor.. ❤️

Thank you for bringing this documentary. Its really fascinating, appreciated all the toughness of all the people there, the drivers, the nomads all the people are very tough living in himalayas . Hope trees can grow back to the mountain. It helps but seems it is more in harvesting without replacing. The mountains might become unstable. The scenery is breathtaking, but the travel is really dangerous.

Though the roads are so dangerous, thanks to this film making us see such beautiful scenery of Indian mountains. In Taiwan, we have very beautiful mountains as well high up to more than three thousand meters altitude, but our roads were well maintained to enable us to drive there to enjoy the beauty of the nature. Those drivers and road maintenance workers in this film are highly appreciated for their bravery and hardworking.
