Not gender-related, but a Kindergartener at the place where I used to do childcare came in wearing fairy wings and a tutu for Halloween and when any adult cheerfully asked her, "Ohh, are you a fairy?" she would FIRMLY respond, "NO! I'm a FLAIR-y. I /flair/." Absolute gold.
