nah what frontier put out is fine actually. for a big company with lots of people working there, they all did a good job making the dinosaurs as close to the films, plus not all of them are that deep into how the dinosaurs for the film get made and still did a goob job replicating them. obviously the designs aren't 1:1, thats impossible even modders still can't get them right *cough* animatronic trexes *cough*

@@jackmills7758modders have to work off the existing in game rigs though. Although some do add custom animations and go all out and those are usually the best mods.

Also you should note that the skull of “Anatotitan” was seen in the Rex nest. More recently, it was reclassified as Edmontosaurus Annectens.

There *is* an Edmontosaurus hint in Lost World! There's a skull in the Rex nest, right to the right of the baby as it's eating. (Which could seemingly apply that's what it's eating....)

Fun fact: The brown Compsognathus, from what I have seen, was in the opening of the film on beach, and I could tell that some of them were browner than the others, also wasn't Cearadactylus in the first films novel, cause from what I've read neither Pteranodon nor Geosternbergia were in the first two novels

Fun Fact: There wasn’t a Pteranodon or a Geosternbergia in the Lost World Jurassic Park novel. Instead, Geosternbergia was what Pteranodon was originally going to be in the movie.

The only downside to this otherwise amazing mod is that the semi-replacement variants aren't separate, individual cosmetics. You can't pick and choose which of these you want to use and which you dont, you have to use everything in this pack for everything to work. For example, if you want to use this mod, you have to use it's version of the 93 T.rex or 93 Triceratops or 93 Brachiosaurus, etc. If you would prefer to use the vanilla versions or another modded version, well, you can't. Deleting a dinosaur file from this mod in hopes it won't replace a certain species variant will result in the game crashing.

Agreed, not sure why they made them replacements. Having more options is rarely a bad thing, so decisions like this tend to make me assume the mod maker has an ego.

You should have a look at the Minecraft mod “prehistoric nature” it has over 800 prehistoric animals from the pre-cambrian all the way to the Jurassic at the moment the Jurassic is still being worked on so yea but they are going until the present day the creatures are as accurate as they can be within the restrictions of Minecraft and they will update animals and there models if new research comes out on them with noticeable differences

Frontier, I say this with love. Do better. The Mamenchisaurus, Pteranodon and Geosternbergia should have looked like this from the jump. The Buck variant is perfection. All of these variants, even the ones not showcased in this video are better than what we got. Hopefully if there is a JWE3 this is what they deliver.

22:00 I don't think it is in JP3, but if so it might make a little sense given there's 2 types of skins. However, this model is for certain (originally at least) The Lost World's Triceratops, seen for a bit longer in the breakout scene after the protagonists break open the locks and open the cages. The reasn it's so goddamn ugly in both that movie and this rendition is that it's a mesh remodel of Stegosaurus, with the thagomizers and plates removed. In other words, the ugly is intentional.

As an old fan, I have to say this mod is so great. Mod makers know what we want, but I hope Frontier can be more dedicated to dinosaur’s ai and animation. Some of dinosaurs don’t have animations of be killed(EX. Therizinosaurus, Deinocheirus…) I think dinosaur’s interactions could be more, also why Frontier took the kill animation away of some dinosaurs? I’m not a professional modder, but I hope we can see more new animations in the future.

Do you play on console or PC? I agree with you, but mainly because JWE2 lags and fails to function even on a PS5 once you get a semi-large sized park. The first game never has a struggle on the PS5 even with a cramped, gigantic park.

I love how much bulkier the OG rex is, Im not big on the Jurassic World version. The improvements on the trike are amazing too. Can make a true 90s park, I love my accurate mods, but I love some of that 'retro' aesthetic, especially for para, as much as I adore its modern depictions also. Also if memory serves theres an Edmontosaurus skeleton in the rex nest in TLW.

All of these look absolutely incredible, but I'm a bit confused concerning the wording used in the mod description. Are the new JP "Variants" actual Variants with customizable skins or are they just singlular skins like the preexisting vanilla Legacy skins are? I know that you stated in this showcase that the 1997 Pteranodon has customizable skins, but is that true for all of the brand new "Variants" introduced in this mod pack?

The frontier spinosaurus is actually more accurate than locos. If you look at the animatronic and the cgi render, the spino is more brown than white and it’s dorsal spine pattern is much more vivid. However the arms and legs are more bulky which is akin to the locos design.

Finaly a mod that does the Mamenchisaurus justice! Still have my hopes to see the JP3 Ankylosaurus receiving some love too 😅 (read: maybe using Euoplocephalus as a base instead of doing like Frontier and making it out from the JW version...) Also the Trike in JP3 looks wonky because it was made from the Stegosaurus model (guess they didn't have a Trike model to use?). Simply put, they just didn't pour a lot of care to it 🤷

Personally I think the reason the Trikes from JP3 look so awful is because they were purely CG creatures. If you pay very close attention at the Triceratops scene in The Lost World, the CGI model has very similar proportions to the JP3 ones.
