To tell if you need the multiprotocol module, look at whether the product picture has the antenna mounted in the top of the radio like in my video, or whether the radio has a dummy plug at the top of the radio. If the radio has an antenna sticking out its top, then it already has the multiprotocol module installed.

As always i learned something today love your vids on the jumper T16 have mine set up the same way i now have 1200ms 600ms and 400ms now i can teach my son inlaw to fly on 400ms but it does fly like silk must be you FC it is a dream to solder uo thanks for all your help i would not be ripping round the back yard if it was not for you can't wait what you do next with the jumper just need the yellow rubber switch things

Yup, this is one of the key benefits for use with angle racing...weird that they changed how it works but one of the devs reached out to me about the change as PMB users were reporting it a lot... apparently there are a lot of PMB users, lol

I'm one of those crazy people who use 6 rate profiles :-p 4 for racing, 1 for freestyle, 1 for LOS FWIW, it's also possible to implement this on the Tango II using a global variable mapped to an output channel, two logical switches (for momentary switches + another switch), then special functions to adjust the global variable and play audio of selected profile number. Similar process also works for adjusting the radio volume without a pot, using an input channel instead. Life without pot, it's possible ;-)

i also had to set the weight to 284 with a 184 offset to get my 6 position switch to work correctly on my jumper T16. I'm using the 6 position to scale my throttle down by 10% increments, maybe i'll modify the pids slightly too, allowing for more uniform flying between 3 and 4 cell batteries

It's disappointing (and inconsistent) that the same cannot be done with PID profiles. There are a number of scenarios, when you need to do a quick PID profile switch (e.g. flying with or without gopro or flying in high/low temperatures). I have the OSD chip dead on one of my kwads, but otherwise the FC works perfect. I have three PID profiles for different temperature (high PIDs when it's cold, low PIDs - when it's hot - to get the most performance while not smoking the motors - - > I fly in temperatures from 5 to 35 deg C). With the OSD chip dead and no easy access to the USB port on the FC making any changes to Betaflight settings is hard....

Thinking about it, you could use the 6 buttons to help find your perfect rates by making button 3 go to your current rates, then the pre & post buttons have slightly higher & lower rates which you can try out mid-flight.

Low mouse sensitivity is used for competitive FPS games, with the exception of games like Quake where headshots don't matter as much. Generally speaking, the more corrections that need to be made, the slower the controls should be. You can even look at the difference between the steering wheel travel of an F1 car (~300 degrees) and that of a WRC/Rally car (~900 degrees). In the WRC you see an order of magnitude more work being put into the steering by the driver due to the vast array of road conditions they maneuver through, unlike F1 where the tracks and turns are buttery smooth.

It looks like you could combine two adjustments to make use of the extra buttons, for example you could control both rate profiles and OSD selection on the same three position switch: 1: Freestyle Rates + OSD #1 2: Freestyle Rates + OSD #2 3: Race Rates + Race OSD

Could you use this to switch profiles depending on the battery cells your using? I.e. if i use 4s on 6s quad? Then when you plug what ever cell battery you've got you chose the corresponding button? Since you can plug in so many combinations of batteries. Example Beta 85x can take 2,3 and 4s batteries. Use 6 button switch to represent cell count and default to lowest profile. Does this make sense? Or does betaflight auto detect cell and use best profile for it.

That's a 6 position switch ?? I completely overlooked those buttons on mine, I see them blink in sequence on startup then completely forget about them because the last time I needed more than 3 switch positions was back in my GPS quad days, before I got into FPV.

Both are excellent, but I think the T-Motor has plug-in DJI connection while the Hobbywing has solder so I would take the T-Motor if they were both the same price.

Having 6 pids profiles might be interesting if it were possible, as we don't have pid sliders in lua script yet, it's a pain in the neck to make notes of the recommended values for tunning purposes.

Recommend any antenna upgrades for the T16 pro? There's got to be a longer better rubber antenna for 2.4ghz.

the supplied antenna is a standard 2dBi SMA dipole and works just fine. If you're looking for better signal strength I recommend changing out the supplied feedline coax for one which is 3" (or 80mm) long. This length is better matched for 2.4GHz and allows more of the generated signal to be transmitted rather than reflected back to the amplifier. I am measuring a 20% average increase in RF output on every module I've tested after making this change. Details are here : www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=43001203&postcount=21

Hi, can i set it like when i toggle my switch to off, use profile 1 and when i toggle mit switch to on then use profile 2? i've seen it in another videoe that you can select a rate profile instead of walking through alle profiles but cannot figure out how. In that video there is also a "slot" column

Yeah you could do that. Just use a 2pos switch instead of the 6pos but the general technique is the same.

my other "plan" was to give away my 2 futaba radios (t14sg(600usd when i got it) and 18SZ (1250usd) and my frsky to get the jumper 16...but i saw that some people have signal issues with the internal 2.4 module..in short distanses they get failsafe like signal lost without reason...so i m not very sure about that either...was it bad luck ?bad bunch? or is that common? the quality cant be so good as for example futaba of 1250usd for only 170 usd jumper costs but i m so used to futabas and i like them more mostly for the shorter stick movements up down left right than frsky which has longer...( i was and still flying 3D helis 11 years now..started fpv last 3 years but last months i m lot more into it )

It works with any controller. If you don't see adjustments tab male sure you have enabled the "expert mode" slider in Betaflight configurator.

Hey Joshua, I picked up the new Jumper t16 Pro Hall. Literally none of my stick ends fit the tiny threads on those sticks. I want to buy some new stick ends because the ones that come stock are AWFUL. Do you know what thread size those are? I see your are still using stock. If you give me an affiliate link I'll click on it. =P nice tips BTW but I like my rate switch where i can get to while flying so I use the RS switch with 2 rate profiles. Vanovers for racing and my old favorite freestyle rates for everything else.

@@dizze8001 I guess they are now that I put a M3 nut on there. The Taranis Hall gimbals are actually M4, but the original Taranis ones are M3, so that's what was throwing me. I had forgotten I upgraded those gimbals. Thanks for the reply. Ordering now.

Any way to change pid PROFILES (not Rate Profiles) using a switch? I know they can be switched automatically with different numbers of battery cells, but how to using a switch?

No it's not possible. The closest is to use stick commands (throttle down yaw left, then right stick left, up, or right, for profile 1, 2, 3).

I have Problems.... I set my rates to 6 pos... I can change the rates from 1>2>3>4>5>6 using the 6pos.. but when my rate profile at 6 i can't change it back to previous rates using the 6pos switch *currently seeking my rates, thats why i have 6 rates ;)

No. PID profiles can't be switched in flight.

You can't switch PID profiles using in-flight adjustments. They can only be switched when disarmed, such as with stick commands and/or in the OSD.

OSD profile 1 will be switch low, profile 3 will be switch high. If you are doing a type of arming where the channel doesn't go low and high then it won't work.

I was wondering about using those buttons as a battery selection. As in some quads are 4 to 6 S. It seemed like a natural use to me. Is this a good idea? Anyone?

Yes it's possible by using those switch B.F adjustment to change P / I / D values including rates profile as until now adjustment for PID Profile yet available because it need reboot (it already on the roadmap and B.F team still testing it) . So ... i guess switch P and D values via switch B.F adjustment might work to change the battery (cell type) for the same quad which usually require PID change

Yes, in-flight PID adjustments would work the same way. You would need a 2nd switch to control if they were going up or down.

PID profiles cannot be switched in-flight because there are certain initialization parameters that have to be calculated while the quad is not flying. You can switch PID profiles using stick commands while the quad is disarmed.

Something is not clear to me: you are using a 3-positions switch, so you can jump on three different positions; even if you set the 6pos parameter on, how can you change 6 profiles?

The problem with those 6 position buttons is they go back to position 1 every time you power on.

I am trying to change the source to the 6 top buttons and it doesn't work. I think there is a mistake. Please Joshua from the future can you reevaluate this?

Click on Source to make it blink then move the 6pos and it should fill in automatically. If the 6pos isn't working, did you move it when you did stick calibration? You have to calibrate it too.

I have prob.. I have set 6pos on my jumper.. And when i press 2 my rate profile still on 1.. And i press 3 it will go to rate #2.. And max till #3.. How do i set till 6pos?

Can you change the name of the Rate Profiles in Beta flight , so they are not just 1,2,3 . I like them to show on my OSD and some time forget what is 1 or 2

Yes. The rate profile name can be reassigned in the CLI. Look at the CLI dump to see the exact command. It'll be something like "set rateprofile_1_name=xyz" or something.

@@JoshuaBardwell Thank you I found it , to bad its one of the OSD elements that DJI / Caddx don't show . I have to use osd_pidrate_profile_pos .
