I have my sticks overlay on my KISS quads (have a 3,5" toothpick and a 5,5" Piratframes freestyle rig). Seeing the sticks in OSD is a fun feature, love it in DVR replays. I never use HD camera, fly purely for the sake of DVR recording. I am one of those guys, yes.... :-)

Nice video Ivan. I agree that once you get both BF and Kiss ultra setup and tuned, they both fly really well. I got setup and tuned a lot faster on KISS however. The closed source does not bother me at all. As you said, many other closed source elements in FPV. My concern is when Fedor gets hit by a bus or wins the euro millions. Bye Bye kiss ultra.

Fettec F7 on Kiss was/is the best setup for me..👊👊 I've got a kiss ultra build ready for a maiden.

I have a FETtec G4 on my freestyle quad. Love the "loose" sense of it. Very difficult to put in words, but it just feels loosely connected without being annoyingly non-precise. As you say Betaflight goes for the setpoint and tries to replicate it as close as possible. I have Betaflight on all my other quads and it feels like a laser pointer compared to KISS. I would say that both have their advantages, I like flying all my quads.

Добрый день Иван, что то периодически Betaflight не запускает моторы, подключаюсь телефоном через спидиби и вижу флаг 16, и красным следующее непонятное сообщение "msp connection is active probably via configurator", и никто не знает что это такое, в остальном всё вроде норм. фикс спутников, других сообщений нет, после перезагрузки запускается норм, всё то же самое, стик газа внизу, что это за сообщение?

KISS boards do not have onboard high current buck converters that BF boards have. Thats probably why the CPU is less temp.

It's good for beginners, or people who are expert fliers, but hate tinkering with the tech. I think that's the objective truth. Betaflight can do what it does, and many other things too, you just have to be a huge nerd to get it to happen. It's truly ridiculous that there isn't a proper setpoint in blackbox, but I guess people who use KISS really wouldn't be interested in blackbox...if they were, they'd get pushed towards Betaflight pretty quick! 😂😛

It seems they are good in firmware programming, but UI/UX is beyond of their skill set :) on the other hand, it's too complicated for KISS principle, instead it should be just only one CLI input for all settings. Just kidding :)

I have no desire to be the subject of a bashing session on the KISS Ultra toxic discord. oops. 😜 Edited: BTW, ticks in gyro traces are indications of electrical noise or the calcs not finishing before the end of the PID loop cycle. You can see electrical noise by doing flips and rolls and see if they show up when motor commands spike. If not, it is probably the gyro loop issue. They would be amplified pretty significantly by the D-term since the slope is really steep entering and exiting the tick. You can make BF do the same by running RPM filter and Dynamic Notch on an F411 board at 8k pid loop. But KISS runs at 1k, sooo... 😁

don't! it's stupid, doesn't work well. it doesn't work with 2.5W VTx (you have to set things manually). also, i have identical builds (same frame, same motors and same props) and i just tested electronics, stock betaflight 4.4 vs. ultra kiss, i flew them head against head more than six months until the final decision was made. i had to f with D term on kiss, whereas BF flies like an angel out of the box with just 2-3 presets. since then i've thrown BF kaack on 3 different quads and all of them are minty. ultra is so bad that i am waiting for new electronics and kiss will be gone forever. it's the ghost of the past, kiss used to be good years ago, nowadays - just don't. i've given it six months and flied it comparatively with BF... flies almost the same, roll/pitch feels a bit different, other than that very close to each other... but, kiss / ultra is the thing of the past, honestly. doesn't work with analog properly any more (can't choose your VTx power or add vtx table for newer VTXes), debug / blackbox is ... guesswork... only thing that's nicer than BF - when you turtlemode, you don't have to extra arm after switching turtlemode on, you just flip your quad and then disable turtlemode and go arm and about your business. just less buttons to fiddle with then in BF... but other than that, ultra / kiss is inferior to BF in every sense, today.
