I love how Queen's Gambit didn't villainize addicts, that being weak to drugs or alcohol didn't make them into a "bad guy." I grew up in a family of alcoholics and smokers and it was saddening growing up and seeing it on tv how only bad, only the evil people became addicts. or that addicts are beyond saving.

Nobody knows da struggle of an addict... its fucken hard 2 stop it's easier said than done.. when everyone u luv n da only ones that give a fuck about u r gone.. n u have nothing else u need something 2 get u thru life even tho u know it's bad 4 u

EXACTLY i also love how Alma was a drunk but she was never horrid and it shows that not all drunks are violent or bullies-some are just miserable and need a escape to help them relax

There’s a psychological impact to story telling which I think contributes to the negative stereotypes and the false perceptions that create much division in society. How could you know addiction without having fought it? Or seen its cost? We should be humbled by the things we are not. The other side of the coin however is glamorizing these things. It’s best to be blessed with the time and the perspective to recognize both, without succumbing to the delusions of either.

Start deep breathing, relaxation exercises. If u still feel not well then go to psychiatrist start your anti anxiety anti depressing medicine. I also took anti anxiety drug..it saved my life. Now I have stopped taking medicine

I loved the queen's gambit, in this "miniseries" He has problems with drugs, alcohol and family. Since she was a child, she has been among men, some sexists, others not. For me, she was one of the best female characters ever created. This video is brilliant! ❤️

Really I know what u mean. It’s so hard. I was thinking to start a yt channel but I gave up so fast cause some people, like me doesn’t have time at all to do anything. And also much stress and anxiety or depression. I think this is so so so good. The song even matches. And no need to stress about getting it done! Sanne It’s beautiful. And is a good depiction of addiction and depression. Some say it’s overly optimistic, but people who say that seem to want a “drugs are bad, mmmmmmkay?” sermon instead of realistic depiction. They don’t seem to realize that it’s not always unrelenting misery and there are high points and low points for us. That’s the whole point of “Taking it one day at a time.”

It would feel great if I didn’t feel fear anymore. Like if I just did d r u g S or at least partied or did something ! I will be able to finally not feel useless , stupid, hurt, low self esteem I want to be ruthless, cold , calculating, independent, get what I want from anyone, I want to stop letting what others think of me to get to me.
