All of these pieces of jewelry are definitely the ones that I have on rotation in my collection. My "collection" consists of the real and the faux that I've inherited from family members through the years and are especially meaningful to me. I feel so close to my mom, sister and grandmothers when I wear these memory-filled pieces of jewelry. I was so glad that you said that any coloring can wear gold and silver. As you know, there are many color systems that preach gold or silver for certain "season" color types. I'm wearing all of my jewelry regardless of my color season. Actually, I think most women look equally beautiful in gold AND silver.

Regarding pearls: my mother was very suspicious. And I don’t know if this was an old wive’s tale or what but… she told me to never buy pearls for myself because it would bring bad luck. She said this as she gifted me my first strand of pearls. Since then, my husband has gifted me my pearls as have others. The only pearls I’ve purchase for myself was cheap Walmart ones for travel.

Thank you, Beth and Jennifer! Such a helpful video. You addressed just about every issue I have about applying makeup to my 66 year old face! Firstly, I dont wear a lot of makeup, and part if the reason why i don't is that I can't put on eyeliner and I don't know how to fix my brows. I love that Jennifer suggested using an eyeshadow color that matches my brows. Thank you so much ! I can do this! Applying eyeliner has never looked right on me. I think i was trying to apply it the way much younger KZfaq influencers do. Results scared me!!! So, I stopped trying, until I watched this video. I can do Jennifer's eyeliner method! Beth, what is your opinion on mixing silver and gold jewelry? I have always been told not to mix, but I wonder if that rule has changed. My wedding rings are white gold, so I've neglected my gold jewelry for years. Since I inherited some lovely gold jewelry I am wondering if I should just 'go for it' ! I have many bracelets collected over many years. So wearing them makes me self conscious about my hands. I worry that they just call attention to my veins, wrinkles and knuckles.

I love pearl and “gold” jewelry, like my pearl station necklace. I do also love pearl studs and have several sizes, some from my beloved late Mom’s jewelry box. I’ve become so discouraged wearing studs, though, because the 14K backs are so tiny that I can’t attach them, I just keep repeatedly dropping them, then get frustrated and end up wearing my pearl drops with ear wires instead (I adore these more than any other pair I have, but I really shouldn’t wear the same pair all the time, I have other styles). I placed an order for some much larger 14K earring backs, but never received them. Maybe I should just get some hypoallergenic, but cheap, ones. I used to wear a conventional strand of “pearls” when I was young, but feel that it will make me look older and frumpy now that I’m nearly 63. So, I try to find pearl jewelry with some “gold” elements, too, they look more modern, especially since my fashion style is super-class, even “Bougie” as people were calling that bourgeoise Old Celine style. My favorite outfit is a pleated skirt, silk shirt and blazer, it’s a conservative and conventional, not trendy, look, but it’s what I love to wear. Adding a classic pearl strand to such an outfit would make me look like I’ve been wearing it, unchanged, since the 80s!

I stopped wearing watches daily when I retired. But, I do love the look of some of the new watches. I want one with a “gold” mesh strap and an interchangeable white or light taupe leather one. I’m hesitating a bit because the modern watch faces are enormous, when I last wore a watch daily, women’s watches were much smaller and daintier, so the two I have are. I have a really delicate frame, I don’t want to emphasize that or look ridiculous with a too-big watch. What would be a proportionate size watch face? I’m 5’4”, wear a size 5 ring and 6-inch bracelet, and have disproportionately short feet and hands (I was 5’6” in my young adulthood, but have lost height through age and spine disease/surgery). Are Nordgreen and Vincero good brands for petite watches? I see them advertised and sponsoring videos a lot.

Perhaps a different word choice next time? I tend to find that word a bit harsh and this is a light hearted topic.

I'm a writer, and my blog posts and KZfaq videos are vetted by a Stanford Ph.D., which is why I take umbrage to being called tone-deaf, as that is clearly not the case, especially since this is a lighthearted lifestyle channel filled with encouragement, suggestions, and advice. Perhaps a different word choice next time? I tend to find that word a bit harsh.
