Alright you guys - please drop ALL the tips below for making the transition from 1 to 2 easier! Our 15 month old mentions “baby” a lot but I still feel like this will be a little bit hard for her 😭

What I really recommend is bringing like a bassinet for the baby my hospital always told me to bring those sometimes people do not bring them but that is just what I really recommend because when I had my second kid it just really helped instead of them sleeping in like the bed or really anything like that so I recommend

If you can, have one day just the three of you at home after the hospital to get settled and bring toddler the next day.

The shape of the bibs pacifiers can ruin you baby teeth before even coming in. The shape if you pacifiers is very important.

Watching these when I’m not even pregnant yet but I’m so excited for that chapter when it comes. I’m learning so much now that I’ll be very prepared when the day comes. I love the feel of your videos. You are so organized and doing great at all you do. Thank you for being so realistic. The part at the end about being so hard on yourself to get ALL of the things done is definitely something I’m working on being more at peace with too. 🥰❤️

For the double stroller, if its adjustable I'd recommend putting the older child on the bottom and facing out, then the younger up top so theyre closer and easier to get to! ❤

Assuming it’s the same in Canada, you can also opt not to bathe the baby at all while you’re there! The vernix that’s rubbed into baby’s skin is so beneficial and there’s no need to wash it away super quick! I think we waited a full week after being home to give her a bath, and it was sweet to do it in our home for the first time instead of them doing it in hospital!

Yes! Delaying baby's first bath has so many benefits! We also waited at least the 1st week with ours to bathe them at home. 😀

Your birth video popped up in my feed, and you guys looked so cute, I decided to watch it!! I'm actually a grandma, so clearly my child birthing days are LONG behind me....but one of my daughters is a Doula, and before I retired I was a Medical Assistant at an OB/GYN practice, so it's fun to watch the occasional birth video! We're pretty big on babies in our family:) I really did enjoy your birth video, your husband is hilarious! Anyway, I saw that you are expecting baby number 2, so I decided to subscribe, and cheer you on from the grandma section! I’m almost 21 weeks pregnant with my first and it’s a boy so I’m soooo excited for your follow up videos! Also on another note… you don’t get diapers at the hospital??? Here in Germany the babies even get outfits there which you also leave for the next babies that are born after yours so that’s actually really helpful because you won’t have a lot of laundry to do when you’re home 😅

I'm 35 weeks pregnant so it was fun to watch and see what nesting you're up to. ☺Quick question about the stroller. Wouldn't you put the newborn at the top where you can easily see them/tend to them and older sibling on the lower part?

I’m not sure about that particular stroller, but we have the evenflo pivot xpand which is basically the knockoff version lol. Anyway, in ours the bassinet attachment can only be used flat on the lower level! The top attachment has to be used as either the carseat or an incline seat.

if you're concerned about bath and cleaning products you should check out EWG's databases, they provide the toxicity reports for most things - highly recommend!

O girl. I am due Oct 8th and currently not living at the house we have been renoing (still at my parents) hoping he stays in there and we will move in this week. Will we have trim on the walls? No. Will we also be missing end tables to bedrooms? Yes. Amongst the millions of other projects we have tallying up. Our fridge probably won’t be here before he gets here either. Luckily we have a beverage fridge and a garage fridge/freezer. I keep telling myself that those things aren’t necessary for a baby we can complete them during my leave.

Oh my gosh, I feel you so deeply on this haha 😭 it’s such a struggle to feel like your place isn’t fully “settled” but at the end of the day they really don’t know the difference… grateful we’ll still have all we need to function in the meantime. It certainly is a test in releasing control hahaha
