Bethlehem is a city along the Lehigh River in Northampton and Lehigh counties in the Lehigh Valley region of the eastern portion of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 74,982, making it the seventh largest city in Pennsylvania, after Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Erie, Reading, and Scranton. Of this, 55,639 were in Northampton County, and 19,343 were in Lehigh County.
Bethlehem lies in the center of the Lehigh Valley, a region of 731 sq mi (1,890 km) that is home to more than 800,000 people. Together with Allentown and Easton, the Valley embraces the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton, PA-NJ metropolitan area, including Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon counties within Pennsylvania, and Warren County in the adjacent state of New Jersey. Smaller than Allentown but larger than Easton, Bethlehem is the Lehigh Valley's second-most populous city. In turn, this metropolitan area comprises Pennsylvania's third-largest metropolitan area.
There are four general sections of the city: central Bethlehem, the south side, the east side, and the west side. Each of these sections blossomed at different times in the city's development and each contains areas recognized under the National Register of Historic Places. ZIP codes that use the address Bethlehem totaled 116,000 in population in the year 2000. These ZIP codes include Bethlehem Township and Hanover Township.
The Norfolk Southern Railway's Lehigh Line (formerly the main line of the Lehigh Valley Railroad), runs through Bethlehem heading east to Easton, Pennsylvania and Phillipsburg, New Jersey across the Delaware River. The Norfolk Southern Railway's Reading Line runs through Bethlehem heading west to Allentown and Reading.

The amazing history of Bethlehem Steel. Is an incredible story and sad one how this once almighty giant corporation just went away. Failing to keeping up with the times plus Corporate & Union greed. Caused its demise. Well done video!

Thank you look Around. I loved this. It reminded me of summertime in 2019. Please do more of south Bethlehem. It also is the place where Lehigh University is located.👍

Thanks for a very well done intro to Bethlehem, which I'm investigating from afar as a possible new location. You show some of the less attractive as well as nicer parts of the city. The street map animation overlay is helpful without being intrusive.

I was there December 31 and January 1, 2023 Happy New Year and was raining ☔️ at casino. I had been in Bethlehem five times. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I’m not sure it’s the best video introduction to Bethlehem for people who have never been here. Yes, the old Steel Mill buildings in the beginning are old and have windows with holes in them. The Bethlehem Steel is no longer operating. But that shell of a building kind of creates a false impression of Bethlehem overall. In my opinion. Come during Musikfest in August. Buy a mug. You’ll enjoy it !

Think 🤔 regarding the thousands workers specifically the ones before the the forty’s when the workers work Without benefit’s. When I used to work in New York 🗽 my supervisor told me that before the the forties the works who build the buildings worked as slaves. Well I image how the conditions of workers feel when the company tell the steel prices went down yes the workers were the ones who went down

You're absolutely right. I grew up in Bethlehem and for people who don't know the history of the Steel it could give the wrong impression.

I as there New Year’s Eve in the casino 🎰 and at 12:00am 🥳 🎉. Si much fun I never think that I will be in a casino celebrating the New Years.🎉 sad to see all those factories that many thousands employees worked. Many decades. A place from where came to build Washington Bridge in New York City and the a golden Gate in San Francisco. Sad because the steel price went down they close factories and throw out thousands of workers who may that Bethlehem and the state of PA ruined and poverty. Many lives were destroyed went the big companies closed structures. The structure are following apart and God knows how many people leave Bethlehem. ❤😭😭😭👿👿👿❤❤😡😡
