Wayne was still running the rap game and mixtape game, 50 was still entertaining and still is, Gangsta Grillz mixtapes were getting heavy rotation, Texas and Atlanta were repping hard for the south. That low key kinda messed up a lot of the rap game especially now, how most rappers are not held accountable for what they say or do, and the media gives them the “oh their young or that how they express themselves.” I miss the days when a rapper doesn’t like a another one they go and confront them or send clear shots at them on a track. Now they do subliminal disses too scared to say the rappers name or when they see them they play it ‘cool’

This was huge. Still remember watching this live. People were checking numbers. 50 had an early lead, Kanye won at the end of the week. 50 blamed Interscope for not prioritising his project and marketing it correctly. It was also insinuated that Def Jam bought CDs. Plus Kanye had Jay Z campaigning for him. No one can doubt that from ‘03-‘05, 50 was a beast, much like L’il Wayne’s run a couple of years later.
