Black culture / attitude is naturally drivin by rhythm, not by blues. blues was only the result of slavery and white terror, a way to express and deal with suffer, at the same time a way of self-therapy.
@coolcat1813
@coolcat1813 2 жыл бұрын
@LetsBeHonest Not really, rap, as part of a broader hip hop culture (dance, music, art), was and is rhythm driven, highly influenced by funk / break beats, dub at that time. Their might be conscious hip hop, or socially conscious hip hop, political hip hop, like ATCQ, but there is no blues in hip hop, at least not that type of blues which was considered to be blues during times of slavery.

Do Latin people ever take into account that yall say everybody else's country when describing them, except for when it comes to Africans? I'm not sure people of Latin descent, who've been largely groomed to have a European perspective, actually understand that they too have been severely brainwashed to think our actual HERITAGE is non existent. Ex: "African is beautiful, and I'm Mexican" ... is how you respect our culture and salute our ancestors, next time. Labeling us "Black, as in Negro" is low vibrational. Thanks

As a black American who is in touch with my Nigerian roots due to my parents, I'm very happy to see you guys know some stuff about Africa. I would love to meet these people. Never taught I'd hear a black American talking about Yoruba words and their meanings lol. I need to put you on to some Afrobeat, and gospel. I think what you missed is Africans have a very robust and resilient personality for the most part. They had to due to being hunter gatherers, and so natural selection breeded the most mentally tough people. Not to mention we've faced the worst atrocities in history in slavery, and our people have rose against it and inspired many. We can do anything we put our minds to.

A brief history of COOL. In European and Asian history it’s about being Coool and calm in battle or in times of turmoil. I’m African history it’s about that AS WELL as being cool in times we’re things are calm and things are going well.

It was the streets and not the entertainers that were cool. The walk was the pimp. The greeting was passing skin. GOUSTERS from Chicago were the cool kids. You can see their dress in Cooley High. The alternatives, also cool, were Ivy Leaguers who wore hair styles called Quo Vadis. Check out what colonialism did to the Congo. Sapeurs of the Congo. Remember when Black men went to war? Tipped hats were off the chain 😍

In my opinion, I think Cedric the entertainer is so cool, I hope he puts out his very own cologne and fragrance products. He looks like he treats his attire and body with a fine-tooth comb, or white gloves. And, the as for this football player named, Michael Strahan, he's another guy, who is statuesque, and the suits he wears are well-taylored, for his physique. As for women, Nicki Minaj and Beyonce always wows me with their bright colors. Their shoe game is ill. LHH star Malaysia and Saweetie, are both top notch, I think they should have their own fragrances and attire lines. And, lastly, I think Teyana Taylor and her husband upon appearance compliment each other well. They both look shiny. I assume they both like oils. Which why their skin is so clear. I think they could make a killing creating essential oils. I'm missing some. But, these people in particular, stand out to me, the most.

I agree black people have "cool" ingrained deeply into their culture more than any other and I'd say blacks have a "cooler" personality on average but just a thought for discussion. What do you think about the Brad Pitt, Leo, Clint Eastwood archetype? Isn't that the epitome of cool as well?

To me cool is self-aggrandizement. Distinguishing yourself from others(standout) in every aspect. The reason we have megalomaniac leaders in Africa fckin the continent up. In the west, look at hip-hop culture. "Am the man''....

It was the birth of black cool i'd say in '92. Then basketball was becoming king and Michigan and the Fab 5 were turning the basketball world upside down with the swag and mystique. Rap music was becoming just mainstream with Kris Kross, Warren G and Snoop Dogg emerging and really being the gateway acts that brought it real commercial cred. Then this was when Hood movies were coming out and becoming a part of american sub culture and the black power and Malcolm X was being exploited for the commercial gain to profit and that's my essay on the birth of black cool. years later i find that the people who were boring people and turned to hip hop culture to shed that insecurity are nothing to envy. in the end, there's a certain swag to everyone and capable of being as attractive.
