Yeah all he wanted was respect and acceptance from chuck but he was a jealous man, he knew Jimmy was good, probably better than him, and would rise to be one of the best lawyers fast, by using unconventional methods that chuck didn't agree with after a lifetime or living by the book himself. Jimmy was far more likeable and charismatic than chuck on a personal level too, also something chuck was jealous of. I would actually watch an alternative history spin off series where chuck respected Jimmy and they both became a great team of lawyers together at HHM with Jimmy and Kim using these elaborate plans to win massive cases etc.

Jimmy was also right about Chuck. Chuck might not have died in a hospital surrounded by electricity. But Chuck did push everyone away because of his own bratty entitlement and arrogance, making everyone who cared for him (Jimmy, Howard, Ernesto) turn their backs on him and leaving him to rot in his house. And he died there. Alone.

He is the one that sabotaged his progress. Jimmy first relapsed because he found out what the brother thinks about him (when he said chimpanzee with a machine gun). Even for alcoholics and drug users support is important (of course they need to wish to change, which he did. He worked his ass passing the bar, and all he did was help the elderly. He wasn't dangerous.). The brother kept hanging on to slippin Jimmy and didn't see the progress he was making.

And if you think about it, Jimmy didn't hurt anyone at all. Yes, he is a bright personality, hot-tempered at times, and cuts corners, but he is not a bad person. If you compare him with all the characters in Breaking Bad at all, then he is the most holy. Chuck just can't see him as a lawyer, much less a better lawyer than himself. He's not doing it for his own good, but only for his damn ego

Yes, Jimmy never *directly* hurt anyone, but he indirectly hurt several people. For example, Howard's fate was indirectly caused by Jimmy and Howard is now remembered as a coke addict. A lot of Breaking Bad characters are more moral than him, like Hank and Walt Jr. They're both certainly better than a con artist who scams other people. I have no reason to think he's not a bad person.

@@lebaguette5393 It was Kim's idea to frame Howard, and Saul tried to talk her out of it. In fact, most of the bad things he did were because of her. Well, if only that, Kim didn't even say about Lalo, and if he at least had reasons to hate Howard, Kim did it just because. At the moment, the worst thing Jimmy has done is threaten a woman in the 12th episode of the last season. The situation was critical, but we will make an exception

Disagree. While Jimmy himself may not have dealt out the violence himself, he enabled them, he supported those actions. He was all for a hit on Jesse when he became a threat after Hank smashed his face.

Chuck was right. Had Jimmy taken this as a wake up call, the events of BB wouldve never happened. What Chuck said was absolutely right- after this, through Jimmys schemes, decisions and bad choice roads, Chuck killed himself, Howard was murdered, Kim was put on a dark path, not to mention all the murders and drugs and everything that occurs in Breaking Bad. The problem wasnt the message but the messenger. Chuck didnt do this to help Jimmy, he did it to cost Jimmy his law license. Chuck thought he was doing this for the greater good, as evidenced by his tirade at the end of Chicanery. He said it then and during their first blow out- Chuck doesn't have believe people can change, and even if he doesnt admit it Jimmy still believed in what Chuck was saying, so why bother changing if your own brother believes you cant?

Without a doubt Jimmy only needed to say he broke the door down because he’d thought his brother had been inside having ANOTHER health moment and Chuck had broken into his own desk claiming he’d lost the key. Jimmy had taken the tool out of his hands which mean fingerprints were on it. Then I would run a tv commercial advertising chucks deceit. Also evintroute or mike shall we say.
