@DaLeSy.
@DaLeSy. 25 күн бұрын
According to my research glass can be a problem as well. Although there is ultraviolet glass that allows the uv light to get through. But regardless it sounds like you would have to leave the bottle (glass or plastic) in the sun for at least an entire week before it would kill protozoa which have larger cell walls. That is things like Giardia and Cryptosporidium which are parasites. So this method doesn't sound like a very good method to me. Just saying.

Canadian silver Maple Leaf is .9999 silver, you need to make it positive using a battery to be an anode in a container of water to speed up dissolving into the water to make colloidal silver concentrate.

Keep in mind that most emergency filters use either an ultra-filtration method that removes dangerous microorganisms OR they're / activate charcoal filters that remove chemicals, pesticides, VOCs and pharmaceuticals. But you need water to go through BOTH purification AND filtration.

I have a berkey and I loved it UNTIL filter prices went through the roof and I couldn't afford them. Now it sits empty with the last set of cheaper filters I bought for a SHTF situation. They say they will do 1000 gallons.

There is a video on utube on how to clean berkey filters. It's a man that is a plumber. He uses air pressure to blow them out and he uses the same filters for years. Recommend you watch that video. Hope this helps. I haven't tried this yet but plan to.

QUESTION: I live in a pretty humid environment and run a room dehumidifier. Gotta empty it every so often and the water sure looks clear and good. So my question: In a pinch, couldn't I run that water through a Sawyer Mini or other and make it drinkable? It would sure would be a plentiful source of water- right from the air?

@@YeshuaKingMessiah Royal Dalton sell some good systems as well as well as a company called Sarah Maxx, something like that they sell filters that are comparable turkey and are cheaper somewhat. We’ve been getting them from mainly Berkey for about 10 years now we always get the ones that filter out everything even the chemicals as well aschlorine and fluoride. I think those are the extra adapters.
