I have used for a month hibiscus as I am holding a protective style challenge. I removed my style few weeks ago and my shedding was minimal and hair super soft. My growth was very noticeable for the first month, I have been back to protective styling still using hibiscus daily. Since the beginning of the year have been using it overnight every time I wanted to tame frizz on any style I had to prolong it and reduce manipulation. It s also part of my diet . I just love it

In the Caribbean, we wash the green leaves as if you're washing clothes and strain it to just use the green glee water to wash the hair because it thickens it but can also make it rough. Most natural persons especially rastafarian use it for their dreadlocks and mothers use it for their babies to bathe especially if you can't buy shampoo and conditioner that you can trust.🌺 Have you done one on rose flower hair benefits? I heard it was good as well. Which ones can we mix -rose, hibiscus, clove, parsley, oregano, etc.? I like the background music. 💙Yes, I'm going to try it but I wonder about the boiling and steeping -does it retain the nutrients?

Yes , I do that when I am back . My mother told me when I was young. Great detangler and cleanser. The younger flowers soaked in water can be used as a leave in to enhance the curl definition. The hibiscus she used in the video is called sorelle or groseille in the Caribbean . I use the tea for my hair it s just as great as our hibiscus.

Thank you a lot for this video 🙏🏽 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 But there are Hibiscus sabdariffa and Hibiscus rosa sinensis. The one you presented in the video is the Rosa sinensis and the other varieties and the one you used in this video is the Hibiscus sabdariffa. They are two different plants. The Rosa sinensis; we use the flowers and leaves, for the Hibiscus sabdariffa we use the calyx (the dried calyces). The Hibiscus sabdariffa is also called : roselle, bissap, oseille de guinée, Jamaican sorrel... that plant is more like the gombo plant. Their flowers look alike with similar fruits and seeds. There is a big difference between these two plants. I just wanted to clarify this 🙏🏽 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 I love your videos❤

Thank you! I’m well aware. If you notice, I highlighted that there is a plant I particularly loved, a different species of hibiscus. I was alluding to roselle (Hibsicus sabdariffa) but I wanted to highlight that in a different video… It’s the one I have access to so I used it for my tea and it’s the one I prefer however, the point of the video was to highlight the more traditional option, rosa-sinensis.

It depends! Are they hibiscus Rosa sinensis, or sabdariffa? But let me give you some instructions.. for how to properly dry herbs. It may be the method: 1. Harvesting the Herbs: Harvest herbs in the morning after the dew has evaporated but before the sun gets too hot. This is when they have the highest concentration of essential oils. Choose healthy, unblemished leaves, stems, or flowers. Avoid using any herbs that show signs of disease or pest damage. 2. Preparing the Herbs: Rinse the herbs gently in cool water to remove dirt and insects. Shake off excess water and pat dry with paper towels or a clean cloth. Remove any damaged or discolored leaves. For larger leaves, you may want to strip the leaves from the stems. 3. Drying Methods: Air Drying: Gather the herbs into small bundles (about 5-10 stems per bundle). Secure the bundles with a rubber band or string. Hang the bundles upside down in a warm, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Allow 1-2 weeks for the herbs to dry completely. They should feel crispy and crumble easily when fully dried. Drying Rack: Spread the herbs in a single layer on a drying rack or screen. Place the rack in a warm, dry area with good air circulation and out of direct sunlight. Turn the herbs occasionally to ensure even drying. This method typically takes a few days to a week, depending on the humidity and herb type. Oven Drying: Preheat the oven to its lowest setting (usually around 100-110°F or 37-43°C). Place the herbs on a baking sheet in a single layer. Place the baking sheet in the oven and keep the oven door slightly ajar to allow moisture to escape. Check the herbs every 30 minutes, and turn them to ensure even drying. It usually takes 1-4 hours, depending on the herb and oven. Dehydrator: Spread the herbs in a single layer on the dehydrator trays. Set the dehydrator to the appropriate herb setting (usually around 95-115°F or 35-46°C). Dry for several hours, checking periodically for doneness. This method can take anywhere from a few hours to overnight. 4. Storing the Dried Herbs: After drying, allow the herbs to cool completely to room temperature. Store the dried herbs in airtight containers such as glass jars, plastic containers, or resealable bags. Label the containers with the name of the herb and the date of drying. Keep the containers in a cool, dark place to preserve the herbs’ potency and flavor. 5. Checking for Quality: Periodically check the stored herbs for any signs of mold or moisture. Properly dried herbs should be crisp and crumble easily. Following these steps will help ensure that your dried herbs retain their quality and potency for use in cooking, teas, and other applications.

The latin name is Hibiscus sabdariffa which eliminates any confusion.

@@emailwells9557 They are not the same. I grow hibiscus and sorrel in my yard in the Caribbean which is the BVI. They are two different types of plant. Jamaicans nickname sorrel with hibiscus and I don't know why but that's their culture. It had confused me because we don't say hibiscus for sorrel.
