Thanks for the video, I'm not into gear so much nowerdays but needed a new compact light for my job. I also conciodered the plus model but there is no version 2 as of yet

Glad you liked it! I'm not sure they will do a second version of the i3T Plus. To be honest, unless you want the extra space to hold onto or the longer run time of two cells, I'd just grab the i3T 2. I like the Plus and use it occasionally, but I wouldn't put it and the normal length i3T in the same categoryfor recommending.

I fixed my Phoenix by pumping the button five times and then holding it and that fixes the high low setting

Bought the I3T two or three weeks before the I3T 2 became available. On paper they're not that different for my use case but the longer battery life would come in handy.

The original could always be a back up, you know how us EDC folk love our 5-is-1 mentality 👀

@@gearedforward True, but I already have a backup on my keychain😉 But you've mentioned one point in the video which makes me happy it's the original: going from low to high.

There are instructions how to switch from hi/lo to the more traditional lo/hi selection. Have an i5t and i5t+ but definitely interested in this one with the 10440 option.

Thanks for that, I'll have to take a look! I like (and collect) the i5T/R series as well, I just see them as different use cases. The i3T is great for just in case when you're out during the day, the i5T/R is better when you *know* you need a light.

@@gearedforward can see the i3t2 filling that role nicely, got given a set of cobra XS pliers with their case for my birthday and reckon an i3t in red would work well slipped into the elastic sides. Run a pair of ir5 batteries in my i5t+ which has given a massive increase in the high run time with so far no adverse effect on the torch, doesn’t boost lumens just doesn’t ramp down to half power.

@@shauncomper1304 I like that! I carry my black i3T in the elastic strap of my Wave sheath, super handy. Good to hear that the two 14500s in series wasn't too much, I imagine that's because of Olight stepping down the voltage.

Half press the button 5x and then hold to toggle between starting in high vs. low.

@@MJRomero52 Excellent! I'd still prefer it shipped low>high, but this pretty much erases that criticism for me.

I prefer longer runtime from first edition... For a such small light its more healthy less warm, that is, less lumen...

When using AAAs there's no perceivable (if at all) temperature difference between the two, though using 10440's the i3T 2 would probably get a bit warmer. Both still solid options!

If that's something you don't like, you can actually change it so it defaults to low like the original i3T!

@@johnwayne666 no worries, your English is great! I understand what you mean, I don't like the slow ramp up in brightness either, it's meant to be better for the lifespan of the emitter, but it is a bit annoying!
