Just to make sure I understood you correctly - you say that there is a difference between UHD3000 and the rest of them? I assume you have experience with all of them? Have you done side by side comparison in similar fashion to what this vid is showing? Thanks

@@sebna yes there is a difference, however as explained in previous comment, whether or not you notice or hear a difference in any of these products not only depends on how critical you are with video and audio but also depends on your overall system. All products in this video are extremely capable and of excellent quality but there is a difference between all and the UHD3000. All that said, the same also applies to the Zappiti Neo, Reference and Signature models.

Thank you for your comment :) it was a challenging video to do. Regarding the Kaleidescape, if you have a 1:1 rip of the disk, it's exactly the same ( i have seen both and you can't tell the difference ). I ran these units on a 85" Sony top of the line 2022 LED tv. And couldn't tell any difference ( the only difference i noticed was so minimal that it doesn't justify the price increase ) if you are only running of a Nas and of HDMI for both Audio and Video. I have a movie room that I am building :) i will try them again on that ( it will be a 140" screen with a 11.4.6 ) if there is a difference, do you mind if i quote you on that video :D Thank you again for your support :)

I don't think there is any real world difference. I don't know how they are doing the tests but it doesn't seem that they are keeping the camera at the exact same position and it's not in a completely dark room. You could never reliably tell from a KZfaq video

UD5000 is 20% faster, has wifi 6.. so it will be a better buy than the UD3000

Regarding the noise, it might be the issue with the HDD that you installed, Also with the NAS connect it to your Network and then just run an Ethernet cable to your Zidoo. The subtitles are correct, and that annoyed me also. However, they are working on a fix for that :) Hope you subs and hit the bell icon as we have more media players on the way to review :)

It might be the noise of your zidoo's fan. I have turned off the fan on my Zidoo 3000.

Correct, as you could see from the video. hardly any difference :)

The videos were put together in post ( all 4 players were running on the same tv and from the same source file, which was a full 1:1 disk rip ). I agree, the UHD3000 has the best PQ, but if it wasn't side by side, you wouldn't tell the difference ( i didn't know there was a difference until i put them next to each other in post ) and that just told me, the price difference isn't worth it. I would choose the Z9x out of them ( if you don't need the HDD built-in ), or wait until the new Z9x pro and Z10 pro coming out in July :D ( you could easily tweak the picture to make it look like the UHD3000 or make the UHD3000 look like the Z9x ) So, buy the features that you want. With HDMI the PQ and Audio is the same or very minimum which doesn't justify the cost.

I assume that you have used the same exposition and other camera parameters when you were taking those recordings of the playback for your comparison (can I ask what camera and settings were you using to record this comparison?). But the UHD3000 have blown out light. Visible for example at time stamp 5:41 where SONY logo is blown out in compare to other recordings? So is it possible that you were recording with slightly different camera settings, because the alternative explanation is that UHD3000 produces brighter picture. I will be running another test in my theatre setup which is a 9.2.6. But for a TV setup, the Z9x is the same as the UHD3000.

The Zidoo, will convert that Dolby vision into normal HDR, so you could still watch it on your TV that doesnt support DV :)

@@chopshop523 That's not what he was asking. He asked if you have Dolby Vision content and play it on a Non-Dolby Vision tv. Would the Zidoo still play it. The answer is Yes. Zidoo will play that Dolby Vision Conent but downmix it to HDR 10. So the Content will still be played, but it won't be Dolby Vision.

As you could change the Theam to what ever you like, they should be all the same ( they all use the same chip set ).

It has more of a over saturated color but, its not a big diffrence to justify the price increase. hope you subs to our channel as we have more media players coming up.

They are a 4k player, And if you like to watch any content on your display ( Tv shows or Movies ) then you NEED one :D

Even thou the Neo is a great player, That would be under Hifi Audio. This video was just covering Media players ( but i agree with you, the Neo is increadable and could do everything that the Media player could do + more ) but if you are only watching movide of Nas or HDD and running HDMI, then the Neo is a waste of money :D

I think you missunderstood what i meant by better. Reviewers out their said that ( K is better then even 4k discs as some 4k discs are limited by the size they could carry ) eg. Avatar 2. So with K you could download the full movie as intended, Same thing with this you could Rip it to a NAS and use that. So if K is better then 4k, So is Nas and Zidoo. Now why i said this is better..... Its exactly the same but knowing you have money left in your pocket makes it ALOT better :D You could spend that money on a better PJ which makes the Picture better.

K is better than some 4K UHD’s due to size of the file on K vs the limitation and compressions that need to take place on a disc for it to fit (up to the company). On Zidoo or Zappitti you are still held by that same principal, you are ripping from the 4K disc, not sure where you are going with this. Money aspect has no bearing here, what is better is better, a Ferrari is a better car than a Honda, however the Honda is cheaper and will still get you the same place, but you cannot mistake the two just because it’s less expensive. Also, you could spend your money on anything else, but nothing is going to get better than your source. I always say K is not for everyone, if you have a less than 20k (generously) system your probably not going to appreciate it.

@@guillermomartin8248 what does not make any sense is why you don't understand that he has different criteria than you do. Why do you think your criteria for what is better are the only correct and everybody has to follow them? Even you analogy makes no sense. Ferrari is only better than Honda in certain aspects. It is a faster car but you can barely leave dealership in it and you have to go back for oil change and prey to God something will not break while you are on the way there, while in Honda you can do few round trips around the world without even breaking sweat. So Honda is miles better in that aspect etc. With K you can have few releases out of thousands in marginally better quality 1-5% than BD disc. While with rips and NAS you can have thousands of RIPs for the price of hardware admission to K eco-system. There is no question which is a better value. What is more, this 1-5% gain in quality for few releases on K (as it is only tiny amount of titles that has higher bitrate than discs), will be nothing in compare to when 8k lunches and 16k after that, and it will still be much cheaper to have rips of those. Finally with K you own nothing really as no matter how they spin the digital ownership of the stuff you buy from them, without their service in place you have nothing. With rips you buy BDs and you own them for life. So there you go different criteria. Yes K is nice, but it is not holy grail of any sorts. Just another streaming service really.

I don't think the shield can play BD ISO and BD MV files. I think they are essentially trying to make a turn key system that is basically a diskless UHD/blu-ray/3D-blu ray player

@@gondolier41413 They have apps that you can install to play those formats like for example Plex Server, Jellyfin, XMBC, Kodi, just to name a few, those apps will play any formats and you can stream all your movies from a NAS server. These unknown brands like this one and many thousands of others are just a cheap device with android OS built in, that's all they are and they are trying to make money by making people think they got to have that type of player to play 4K movies, nah you don't! lol

@@gondolier41413 PS: don't get me wrong, the player is nice but only does one thing while Shield does everything. The player zidoo plays files that you rip from movie disc etc and so on. But that's all it is good for but price is ugly. It's seems to be more of a 75% profit on that price tag. Which is not a good deal for what it only does.

@@darillfow yeah I get you if I was only choosing one I'd prob get the shield. This is a niche product that is going to mainly appeal to home theater enthusiasts. Probably part of the reason they charge so much is they don't expect to move as many units due to it's limited potential customer base.

The shield might be better for streaming services, but for local files, I like the Zidoo. One big advantage of the Zidoo is that it has built-in media player software that has way better picture quality and control features than Kodi or other such apps on the Shield.

over 456 found it helpful and 96 cared to comment ( sorry 95 ) so may i ask why is it useless. The takeaway here is if you are not running Analog you get the Z100 pro. if you are running analog you get the UHD3000 if you dont need HDD space you get the Z9x. Pretty straight foreword :)
