BETTER Than the Benchmade Bugout!!!

The Benchmade TaggedOut is definitely an upgrade on the Benchmade Bugout, especially if you like larger knives for EDC. The clipped point blade is also really useful and attractive. The ergonomics are great as well.

The base version is a decent deal and if you add aftermarket scales it takes it from good to great and it competes with more expensive knives once done.

I love this design. I got all 3 variants, took the orange bladed magnacut and put it on the orange handles, now i have a sick all orange knife, just try to lose that lol

It’s a fantastic design! I have all 3 variants as well. I love the thumbstuds on it the most but the look of the orange blade and carbon fiber is the best by far. I didn’t think about making an all orange one but that sounds awesome!

⁠I about do the same thing…. I’m heart broken when I walk up and my wife has already opened a box😂. I get use when I fish and camp but it’s usually a fixed blade in those situations. Thanks for your work brother!

Not a bad piece unfortunately it’s overpriced. Benchmade needs a reality check. Need to lower their prices

The bugout and TaggedOut are priced similarly so compared to the bugout the pricing is fine. But you’re right that the bugout is getting out of hand as it’s about 1.5x what it was when it came out. Still, inflation isn’t really Benchmade’s fault.

Everything Benchmade puts out is overpriced…. You’re paying for the name and the butterfly… there’s much better knife makers for the price point they sell at.

Yep it's absolutely better than the Bugout my son has the green with thumb studs I went orange with the hole but contoured a set of CF for it .

It’s a great user steel on that one too! With the 14 degree select-edge CPM-154 sharpens to an absolute razor edge.

My girlfriend just got the bugout to carry when we hunt… she hates it and says it’s flimsy and feels cheap. Are those handles also made out of polymer?

Why would you get a bugout to carry while hunting? Thats not the knife’s intended use at all.

@@josephsantana3094 it’s literally called a bugout. It’s for the woods. Matthews archery literally has a colab with Benchmade for a bug out knife used for hunting lol. Many people we know use them to skin game as they are lightweight and hold a edge. Most women will not carry a 6 inch fixed blade for 6 hours without complaining.

@@dmining65 Despite the name it just doesn’t come across to me as a knife actually intended for the woods or “bugging out”. Thats probably why it felt cheap to her. I do love my Bugout and I think it’s great for certain applications, but it’s definitely not going to be my first choice to go out hunting or camping with. That doesn’t mean I have to have a 6” fixed blade either.

Benchmade has nice designs but their heat treats on their blades and omega springs are shit. For the price I expect excellent heat treatment for optimal performance of the blade.

The heat treats have been mostly fine in recent years. They had some QC issues a few years ago but those seem to have resolved themselves. Of course, the corrosion testing on their salt knives indicates some possible issues but it’s a new line so I guess we’ll see.
