Man creating a fruitful paradise and life with Mama Nature is not enslavement. Serving mans god who is without a womb is enslavement. She is his first and will be his las. Paradise is not lost but built over.

God created hell and is ruler over it. The devil doesn’t even rule in hell… it’s where he is cast into along with the angles and man for eternity. Do not be deceived. When the devil speaks lies it is his native language. God is without deceit and His words ring true.

They didn't die immediately, but they lost their immortality. Death is the key to life, and suffering is the key to value. Satan cannot accept these conditions of reality, so he rebels against the Creator and His creatures. Thus he destroys life and value together. The ultimate in nihilism.

Ricardo Montalban's Star Trek character, Khan Noonian Singh, quoted Milton in the Original Series episode where he first appeared. In the second Star Trek movie, however, Khan was no longer so keen on ruling in Hell. After things turned sour, he bellyached about how Kirk had left him on that planet instead of baby-sitting him. By me, Khan was no longer a villain of stature.

It's all politics. History is written by the victors. Was Satan evil because he rebelled? Against a tyrannical God who destroyed his own creations ? The flood of the old testament is quite telling. An omniscient, omnipotent being wiped the slate of his creations clean because they did not bow to his will....
