Brooks Wackerman is arguably the best thing about The Stage. Every single song has a ton of dynamics. He's so good. He was in Bad Religion, Tenacious D, Infectious Grooves, and he was the frontman for The Kidneys. He also played for blink-182 at one point. An absolute monster. The album is a giant drum solo.

Brooks is the perfect addition to A7X post-Rev. I didn't enjoy Hail to the King but The Stage blew my mind and the energy the drums lend to the tracks is insane.

This song is from their newest album. In my opinion, one of their best albums. If you want an incredible Journey I recommend again "Exist". Probably one of their best songs or more unique... Good video, Higher is an incredible song too.

I am hoping to check out exist this week! Trying to listen to a mix of stuff and A7X is one of the most recommended. I'm enjoying the A7X journey for sure. I look forward to hearing that one!

Thanks for becoming an a7x fan. Welcome to the club! So, on what you were saying about closing your eyes and letting the song take you on a journey... this album, the stage, every song is a journey. My favorite song to go on a journey is Dose. I won’t spoil it, but it’s AMAZING

Love this album! The drum lick you're on about he turns the drumstick around and taps it on the edge of the drum, I tried to Google the full meaning but I can't find it but its essentially someone dying while travelling into space and someone else travelling to find them

I've never been able to find the full meaning of it, but I did read that it was partially inspired by the Challenger explosion.

pretty much, it's from an astronaut's point of view about how he's remembering the disaster that happened as he's drifting away into space and watching the Earth get smaller as he's flying past all the planets and stars

When the album "The Stage" came out, I didn't like it. I didn' expect it to be so progressive. Now I'm completely stunned at how good it really is!

Brian and zack handle a bunch of the background vocals. Sullivan used to contribute a ton too. When they play live Brian does a lot of support for Matt on the vocals. It’s really impressive to see them pull it off. They work their butts off when they play live

My opinion is this is another jimmy tribute song, makes sence how the drumbs are so forward/upfront in the mix. Similar drum centric mix in "saint james". They're letting the drums shine for the one they left behind. 😭

Another great reaction!! And the stage was a pretty great and different album overall for a7x, at first I wasn’t actually too keen on it, but since my initial thoughts from it’s release I’ve really liked the fact that it is different, each album of theirs shows the variety that they can do

Good catch about the drumstick hitting the rim. Sometimes I watch "Higher" drum cover videos just because the drums are so good in this song. Brooks Wackerman is a master of drums.

i write the same on every avenged reaction i comment. their last album is a masterpiece. what i recommend at least from that album: the first song, the stage with the official video. roman sky, fermi paradox and to finish, exist. It's a travel. after more than 15 years listening metal and 10 playing guitar, fermi paradox is one of the most beautiful things i ever heard in metal compositions

The whole álbum is about the space. The meaning of this song its similar to the movie "interestelar", searching for new planet. Higher with the ship, to find a new world
