Hehe you can always tell that these Broughy Gfreds are worth their weight in gold. Frustration showing for both RBS and Verdilith when things aren't going to plan. Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition I suppose ;)

I'm conflicted on the woe is me remark by Verdilith in this instance. On the one hand, it's incredibly frustrating even as the viewer to see someone else's boneheaded choices be detrimental to the race but at the same time there's so many variables in a Gfred that I don't believe his loss here can be pinned solely on whatever went down on the tracks. It certainly influenced the outcome of his race, but there were at least two other factors that came into play and a third after the incident that proved crucial. A few of these "nexus events" that stand out for me are RBS initially passing on the White Buffalo in the very beginning. Taking this with a grain of salt, because someone could have stolen it from him and presumably Verdilith had a decent shot at it too, but if RBS would have snagged that he could have been solidly ahead of Verdilith. You can see whomever ended up with it passing RBS at 4:03 and Verdilith and RBS don't get into their cars and up to speed until nearly 15 seconds later. The second instance that stands out to me is Verdilith opting to forgo the very same Bullet that ended up taking RBS to the end. Granted, there are pros and cons to making said swap in the rain and it sounded like even RBS was hesitating on the decision but ultimately I do think it ended up being pivotal. Not only for RBS's race but also for Verdilith's. The third and final one that I'll cover is Verdilith's choice to still attempt the road jump knowing his car was damaged. Out of the three risk/reward decision making points Verdilith had, this one was certainly the most decisive. I don't think he was ever going to make that jump given the condition his car was in, however, I think this simply hastened the inevitable. Regardless of if he had taken the safe route or actually made the jump, RBS was gaining too quickly and would have surpassed him prior to the Hail Mary. At the end of the day, there are just too many would have, could have, should have moments to really ever pin the outcome on a singular event. In my opinion, Gfred is a great example of the Butterfly Effect because any number of things can change your race by a second here or a second there that result in one being in an entirely different situation and avoiding the problems that you did have but potentially opening you up to issues that you narrowly missed and otherwise didn't notice.
