Hot take, daniel sedins thru the legs is in my opinion the best goal in NHL history. The finesse, the chemistry, it is pure hockey art

Im pretty sure the Matthew Tkachuk goal at the end is the greatest goal I've ever seen in the NHL. Yes, more impressive than Ovie's diving effort. Considering the game situation in Overtime, and the time left on the clock, and the distance he was away from the net, it was a thing of beauty unlike anything ever seen. Still an unreal goal.

Barzal was the best here. Everyone doesn’t realize how fast he was going when he pulled that move. The rest were just normal btl goals.

Is the Malik shootout goal the first between-the-legs goal in the NHL? Or did someone do it before him?

Tomas Hertl scored a between the legs goal a year before Malik I believe.

Malik's goal was special because he was going 14th in the shootout, as the announcer says, "not a noted goalscorer" and also it happened to be the first time I was watching a hockey game on an HDTV, which was a new technology at the time.

Still remember where I was when I saw the Malik goal live. It was completely unexpected and blew everyone's minds. I can't think of another between the legs goal in an NHL game before this one.
