If you want to be a saint, follow the discipline that leads there, and the example of the saints who went before you. The rosary and persistence in prayer, ministry to the poor and suffering, and/or the vows of the monks and clergy... whatever God calls you to do when you listen with your heart. And find someone experienced to share those tasks with you. We all need help to cultivate virture and root out vice and sin, and we all pass through the dark night. We all need a friend to help us.

My friends, it's good that you leave kind and encouraging comments for the Bishop. But I hope you're leaving him money too, to do his work. It takes nothing to sign up and give a few bucks a month to his ministry. Let's think about leaving him with more than nice comments.

I would give anything to have you as my Spiritual Director, like Jesus himself. Yes I know your not Jesus, my life has been turned upside and my light is dim. Your light is bright, I send a lot of time in adoration, I know God has a plan and he only works for the good. But I am not seeing the good, each day I try my best to hang on that nugget of hope and I do find a blessing always. I have been trying to hang on since 2009, and I try each and everyday, within this crazy world. You Bishop Barron could save a lot of living souls, please do a program on Spiritual direction and give us little ones some hope and help us get our lights just a bit brighter. I pray and ask all this in his most precious name, Jesus Christ.🙏🏼❤️☮️.

Prayer will absolutely no effect on the awful situation in ukraine absolutely nothing, prayer has no quantifiable effect, otherwise cancer in babies would have stopped. Bishop Barron is an expert at talking about things he cannot possible know, he is a parasite as is the catholic church

I have a beam! Bishop Barron, you might find this interesting. Kallistos Ware, our brother in the Orthodox tradition (see CCC 838), was once asked by a Protestant brother: "Are you saved?" He responded, "I trust that by God's grace, I am being saved" (continuous form of the present tense). A starving person like you who found bread -- I like it. God bless😋

I went to St. Dominics in San Francisco 5 years ago and confessed after not having been in church for a while and my priest Father Augustine gave me Bishop Barron's Catholicism box set to watch as penance. i have since started reading a lot of great Christian literature, Gustave Flaubert "Temptations of St. Anthony", Thomas Merton "Silence, Joy", "Summa Theologica" and I am taking a class called Dante in Translation that Yale has put on KZfaq. I just listened to Fr. Mike’s homily and he said something today that I never heard and maybe I should have., but anyway he said, Words disclose or disguise the heart. It’s so true. This is excellent Bishop thank you. It's so loud out there sometimes that it's difficult to discern spirits. I tend to look at the commentary as an indication of the fruits online. If there's lots of anger and judgy pants I get out of there. I thank God for all the gifts He gave you to guide us.

God doesn’t find fault. And that has taught me not to judge other people. If we walked in their shoes, if we had their same experiences, we don’t know what kind of decisions we would make. Since God stooped down for you, why don’t you stoop down for someone else? You’re never more like God than when you’re helping the hurting, restoring the broken, lifting the fallen. There’s enough judgment in the world; there’s enough criticism and faultfinding. Let’s be lifters. Let’s be encouragers. Let’s help someone else experience the God who stoops. This reminds me of the book of James. “Faith without works is dead”. Also, as you said, “ By their fruit you will know them”. I have learned the hard way that there are those who know the right words to say,who even look contrite, but only in order to receive free help. I had to learn to stop giving to them and wasting my resources. If I am drained by these who are always taking , then I will have nothing to give to those who are honestly in need of help. Too many self appointed teachers/ preachers are preaching what is false. I was shocked by the results of the investigation into the life of Ravi Zacharius . I really admired him. I wept over his duplicity. As I examined his lessons , I discovered he never really quoted scriptures nor spoke about sin, righteousness, or judgement. He was not a member of any church,so he had no accountability to anyone. His staff never questioned his actions, nor how he spent the donations ,because they trusted his superiority. Now they all see their mistakes. Fine words and smiles can hide a corrupt heart.

I am not a Roman Catholic, but I do appreciate a bishop Robert Barron‘s homily/sermon on the passage that is in your reading this week. There is a lot of Catholic theology I do not agree with, but they should Baron is always using mostly biblical truths in his messages and I find them a joy and give glory to God to listen to them as I drive to church on Sunday..

I would add not to sit back and simply watch what they do, but sit back watch what they do when they don’t think anyone is watching. The quality of an individual is defined by how they act when nobody is watching.

May I ad that spiritual direction is not a marriage not a sacrament so keep in mind that a good priest a sinner himself can give a good spiritual advice , this confession could be this priest next confession another , right . You entrust your life to True Christ not a priest or religious . So count your blessings and go " baby steps " but take responsibility its your life do not shift it to a spiritual director. Another way to grow in faith is attending a religious retreat for a weekend with a good lecture and an opportunity to ask specific question . " live and let other live " like Pope Francis once said.
