I had a Great Great Aunt Clara that lived in Connecticut! She died after I finished my first year in junior high school in 2007. She and her sister Great Great Aunt Emily would bring me back treats from their travels

When you can still watch a episode some 50 years later, and the sentimentality of the show still brings tears. Beautifully written, expertly performed. Aunt Clara is a classic!

Sam''s reaction by the magistrate referring to witches as evil.classic. But no worry. Aunt Clara charmed them all. This episode had another theme, the way people think about the elderly. The acuser might consider Aunt Clara past her usefulness. But the writers did a wonderful job of showing otherwise, and showing Sam's love for her aunt. We saw this when Aunt Clara visited Sam at the same time Darrin's parents were visiting. Sam defended her aunt when she thought Darrin had said something that had upset her. Love it. ❤

I agree! For me, Clara reminds me of my aunts as they've gotten older. They've gotten a little forgetful at times, but they never cease to tell you how much they love you. Aunt Clara seemed to love everybody.

Watch Sam. Look at how proud she is of her aunt, especially when Aunt Clara explains the word resentment might not be the word, in her view, when describing her feelings toward young people. Love it.

After her death, Lorne was replaced by Alice Ghostely in the character of Esmeralda. Both Lorne and Ghostely appeared together in The Graduate. Lorne collected doorknobs in real life, and it was often her own collection that Aunt Clara displayed.

So the premise of this episode was that Clara needed to feel more useful, so Sam set her up as a babysitter. The kids adored her, but when one of the kid's mother gets wind that Clara told the her kid she was a witch, the mother freaked out and basically got a restraining order against Clara. This kid's mom might be the world's first first Karen.

This episode was a head of its time, with Clara speech, whatever you are, witch or mortal everyone gets old and we can't do things we couldn't do when we were younger, this makes it very relatable.

I like when aunt Clara has to go to court & Clara tells the judge she did tell children that she's a witch & she told the judge that she really is a witch & aunt Clara tells the judge that witches are like everyone else & Clara uses her powers to make a dog & a bird appear to prove to the judge that she can do magic tricks

Marion Lorne was a wonderful actress. We bought a lot of retro tv shows DVDs, including a 2 season set of 1952-1953 Mister Peepers tv show. Marion Lorne, Wally Cox, Tony Randall, lots of other actors. It’s a great old fashion show.

😄🤣 In this Episode Aunt Clara tried the Spell one more time only with 10×10 Opens the Bag and your hear a Loud Lion's Rower Aunt Clara Jumps and quickly Closes the Bag and Samantha as soon as she hears 10×10 Drops her Head and Covers her Face Darren and the Judge and the Woman all Jump in Fright the Judge laughs and makes his Ruling in Favor of Aunt Clara then he Ask Aunt Clara if she is Free On Friday Night to Babysit his on Children.

Marion Lorne was in the movie "Strangers on a Train." When I first saw it my reaction was "don't kill Aunt Clara, don't kill Aunt Clara." Spoiler Alert ... Aunt Clara was fine. What a relief, I don't think I could take it. 😊

Aunt Clara must have been REALLY old in witch years. Endora and Samantha talk about having been around for a really long time already still without having aged that much so to be getting old in witch years must be a LONG time.

Cut it off at the best pat when Conjures up a Lion in her Handbag Rowwing and Scaring the Judge the Woman and Darrin Samantha just Drops her Head and Covers her Face because she knows she just Conjured up a Lion before it Rows.
