The wings on ragnarok/roktavor are meant to decrease the other beyblades stamina by scraping over the edge of the layer, you can only notice it when using same spin beys

Speaking of Greatest Raphael, It kinda works, it makes the layer rounder as it's supposed to do still yeah those "baskets" May backfire it too but it isn't that bad when compared to other beys you mentioned

High mode Dangerous belial and its already probably useless Oh and dont get me started on Prominence phoenix high mode with shot. Tallest legal combo, these things are probably not even gonna come out.

I feel like to properly say if the gimmicks actually backfire, you can't just look at the stock combo. With wyvern, if it had a driver with decent lad, or honestly any driver other than just that was defense or stamina, the layer's spin steal gimmick would be much more effective. And with the bound layer section, while i do agree that with genesis valtryek, it was more of a hindrance than a help, in db/bu, it's a very very good gimmick when used in the correct ways. When you put the valkyrie core, or dragon core on an attack type ring, it may still hit hard, but not nearly as hard as it would with a normal core, or ones like perseus, and belial 2/3, and they are much mroe susceptible to bursting with those cores, unlike something like the kerbeus core, which has rubber stoppers. The main use for these types of cores, is on defense, and maybe stamina rings!. Defense types usually have very bulky rings, and good defense, as the name states, and when you pair good defense, with a gimmick that pushes back against an attacking beyblade, it pretty much negates most of the clicks the attacker would've gotten, because the spring loaded gimmick works like it does! Most of the other points i agree with though, with mirage's ring being a hindrance to it, with the self bursts, the wheels just being pointless gimmicks, and the lock reverse gimmicks being so cool in concept, and so useless in practice. u might think I'm capping, but the God Valkyrie gimmick happened to mine sometimes. It boosted itself when got hit on the wall, but ig the spin speed doesnt increase

Actually, wizard fafnir's bad burst resistance comes down to the rubber's shape. Even with the updated mold, this still remains as a bad fafnir layer as its the most recoily fafnir. Theres a bump at the end of the dragons there which creates its downfall.

Actually a friend of mine who has heaven pegasus and some other friends of ours did a battle royal and he purposely hand spun and made it to almost the last click. But when me and the others launched our beys. We all lost! And then we checked if it work AND IT DID we were so amazed!

The worst gimmick is definitely killer deathsyther since it's gimmick doesn't do anything and it hinders its attack power. All the other gimmicks do work great just that the combos, burst resistance, and shapes ruin the beyblade for example the just driver ruins Jet Wyvern not even letting it show of its gimmick. The bound gimmick needs high burst resistance and works better for defense than attack, reason why Hazard Kerbeus isn't that good both the shape and drivers burst resistance makes it burst easier.

What about the Gimmick from guardian Kerbeus, that doesnt move at all? The scythe can absorb attacks and kinda move around the weight of the bey, which could make it more unbalanced leading to more attack power. Kerbeus on the other hand... no. The Gimmick actually never works, so its just wasted potential.

How I would fix the gimmicks: Make deathscythers moving pice metal Make genesis/god valkrye have stronger springs and better teeth Make the rubber softer and the teeth better on fafnir On satomb I don’t know how to make it better. Maybe make the wheels larger or add more Yeah… variant is a lost cause… Noting wrong with ragaruk,s wings. Their just useless so I would probably give them a new gimmick. And lastly, make Wyverns layer actually freespin and make its driver not useless.

I feel like adding a tiny bit of metal inside rocktavors wings also making the pertrusions more circular would actually increase the stamina. The outwards weight distribution would help.

"Bound" Gimmick is practically useless on ATTACK combos Defense and Stamina Combos However?, Is a Different story. Because It works well. That's why Dragon core from Gatling Dragon is usually being put on Defensive and Stamina Combos.

I'll be honest with you, every time I've used the bound gimmicks for God Valkyrie and even the (almost unanimously) called bad Savior Valkyrie in its stock combo its been very reliable to almost never burst. It only ever burst to Astral Spriggan in Counter Clockwise Stamina mode

A late comment, but Arc Bahamut can retighten it’s locks against right spinning beys if it uses a driver with a weak spring like bearing, and it’s remarkably consistent. Just don’t expect to do too well against left spinning beys.

Blast jinnius is another beyblade that falls into this category. Its gimmick faltered cause beyblades could still hit it even when the layer raised itself. Maybe if it had a free spin rubber layer under the main layer that rose up it would better defend attacks and absorb spin while parring off attacks in a 360 degree rotation.

I agree, it's one of the most useful gimmicks. Although in a WBO tournament you have to choose your bey facing away from each other, and can't switch modes afterwards 😰

Ive actually been able to use variant Lucifer successfully but sadly my launcher broke trying to bring out more power in the barrier when i was trying to beat tempest dragon and glide roktavor but ive managed to beat every other sparking bey

I refuse to allow you to trash talk Jet Wyvern. It is a perfect example of an upgraded gimmick, seeing as how it went from "not allowing left spins to steal energy" to "stealing energy from left spins". The driver isn't bad, it's just bad in that combo specifically. That being said, going from Orbit to Universe makes more sense than going to Just, so that's what I have on it.

Jet Wyvern can counter Guilty. But need good specific combo. Not interm stock Stock combo mostly bad. Just few other is good like Rage Longinus and Greatest Raphael

I mean if you give God Valkyrie a Reboot' the gimmick could work. But if we're talking about stock combos then yeah it's hot garbage, only rarely being useful. They definitely should've made Satombs rollers a bit bigger. They reeeeally should've given Jet Atomic' or Atomic M. Personally I think the better effective rubber of Fafnir is Geist (TT). Its actually helped out by the dragon heads moving so the cushioning of the attacks are increased, allowing it to spin steal more. And if it starts spinning faster than it's opponent, the heads lock up, revealing a plastic layer to prevent equalization to a degree.

The dash driver are less counted as gimmicks and more counted as a upgrade(Ben 10 Reference). But all joke aside, the word gimmick in the beyblade language is how the bey functions with a secret part such as Phoenixs' armor, Jokers driver, and od course a bullet driver. The metal with final survive on L-Drago(I like that bey so much) counts as a gimmick alongside with Pegasus.

If you screw the screws a bit slacker the roller is op such as it comes out tiny bit as a really good barrier (luficer:Am I a joke to you) and actually fends of attacks by free spinning much easier

@princemeliodas372 I'm guessing, if anything they had to make him stand out from Gwynn and Arthur, so they went with an "awakening" gimmick to achieve it. I also can't imagine all the intricate parts if they wanted to to keep both gimmicks in the layer
