When Beyoncé has the bug a boo’s on stage and she said “did that make us laugh? Think about it.” She was referring to when people make monkey sounds ( e e e ah ah ah) to black people thinking it’s “just a joke”. Not sure if many people caught that. I was shook when i pieced it together.

the dancers' outfits represent majorette dance teams, another nod towards hbcu culture which is what a lot of this performance was based on. the band, step team, greek symbols on the costumes etc are all part of the hbcu theme
