Imagine saying a black women is culturally appropriating country music for singing one of _her_ songs in a genre that was literally _created_ by black people
@dopaminefiend6182
@dopaminefiend6182 5 жыл бұрын
Country music wasn't created by Black people. The genre itself is heavily influenced by many other folk music genres, as well as other cultures' music. The banjo was an African instrument, but it isn't the conception of country music haha. 'Country' music exists all over the world, differing depending on culture and traditional instruments used. Country music isn't solely American country music, even in America it's was heavily influenced by folk music from multiple cultures and countries do to migration from Europe (Ireland and Germanic speaking countries for example) and forced 'migration' from countries in Africa and Asia too. In Thailand we have traditional country songs and instruments that have been used for centuries to make folk music :)

Everyone is missing the point because the point of this performance was 1) country music highkey was created and heavily influence by the African American community 2) Beyoncé chose to do the duet with DIXIE chicks a group that was BLACKLISTED from the CMA SINCE 2003 3) when Beyoncé created the song “daddy lessons” it was on the country charts and many MANY country artists tlked negatively on it THAT IS WHY THIS PERFORMANCE WAS SO ICONIC

She is from Texas yall! Of course she's a little bit country, rock& roll & soul. Stop putting people in a box & let artists give you all of their gifts. I love all genres of music, even country. If it makes you feel good when you listen to it, who cares who sings it. Celebrate the artist's gift & talent & the fact that they shared it with you! I'm not a Beehive, but I recognize & appreciate her artistry & love a lot of her music, even the country in her. Keep giving us all sides of you Boo!❤

I can't tell what I enjoy the most about this performance. Beyonce slaying, the Dixie Chicks being the badass country goddesses they are, the intersectional feminist camaraderie or the faces in the audience. You can tell they're sooooo mad a black woman, along with the three women they excluded for standing up to their racist, pro-war views, are fucking killing it. They're so so so mad. I fucking love it.

I see no angry, disgruntled faces in the crowd. Just an audience super psyched to see a superstar performing at the top of her game. Stop projecting racial acrimony where none (aside from that expressed by a few knuckle-draggers on Twitter) exists. It's sinister, and frankly weird.

I absolutely love Beyonce. Beyonce came to the cmas with the dixie chicks which was a STATEMENT in itself. The Dixie chicks didnt go to the cmas because of the controversy in 2003. Beyonce went and took them with her knowing this. If you look at the end of the performance at the girl with the violin look at how she stood there just soaking it in and looking at the crowd. She was saying FU to them because they got to perform with beyonce after they got shunned. Many people stated they would lokve to work with betince. Nowbim not sure if beyonce will he working with other country stars on this album or just doing her own thing to show she can do country by herself with her team, however i can't wait to see how this unfolds. However I just love Beyonce for doing this and including the Dixie chicks. She really is for the underdogs. My heart is full.
