Exactly! I remember when the pics came out from the all white launch party she had in LA and folks were screaming ‘THAT’S A WIG’. Wholetime the footage in this video is from that same day. Yup, she has worn her natural hair sooooo many times since the late 2000s but folks would argue down the lady was bald headed. She wore her natural hair during the entire promo for Austin Power Gold member back then lfmao. Even during the B'day era when she was promoting in the UK, France and Japan she had a silk press. The early promo for I Am Sasha Fierce. Her whole US Vogue september issue in 2018 when she discussed motherhood. It was all her too

1st. Genetics. It plays a role whether we wanna believe it or not. But you can work against it by keeping it 1st moisturized and 2nd (but 1st) LEAVE IT PROTECTED, ALONE and TRIMMED. In btwn, keep it clean. Cater a routine of these steps and alternate btwn deep conditioning (with added oils/fruits/veggies/plants that aid in your target benefit) and hot oil treatments. Trim every 6 months. I PROMISE you'll see results. Consistency and DIYs (protein/moisturizing treatments) is KEY ladies, no matter the genetics.

@@Lovingyout I'm not the OP but Black hair needs lots of moisture and tender loving care! I went natural in 2012 and installed locs in 2019. My hair is constantly down my back but I cut it every summer cause TX is too hot lol. You just have to do research and use the process of trial and error. The big things you want to do is emphasize low manipulation/ protective hairstyles and wearing a satin bonnet w/ a satin pillowcase every time you lay down to reduce frizz, fly aways and tangles. If your hair is natural, you should consider putting your hair in twists or plaits to keep your hair elongated and reduce shrinkage. You should clarify at least once a month with a clarifying shampoo, such as Eden's or as i am to remove product build up. Deep condition 1x a week or 1x every two weeks with a deep condition like tgin honey masque or ORS olive oil replenishing conditioner (my fave for over a decade lol). When you deep condition, use heat and/or a plastic cap for at least 20 minutes before rinsing out. If your hair is really tangled, do a prepoo first: saturate your hair in an oil you like (i like food-grade avocado oil from the grocery store best) and let it sit in a plastic cap w/ or w/o heat for at least 20 minutes before deep conditioning then finger detangling or detangling with a wide tooth comb. For daily styling and moisturizing, you can use the LOC method (liquid, oil, cream) or LCO (liquid, cream, oil). I usually spritz my hair with water before using a cream and light oil. Lastly, all of this is hella overwhelming when you start. Don't rush out and buy what I recommend. Baby your hair. Treat it like a crown passed down through the generations. Figure out your hair type and concern first (is your hair breaking off before it can retain length? are you dealing with thinning edges or alopecia?, etc) Google and KZfaq are gonna be your best friends, but once you figure it out consistency will ensure you can grow your beautiful Black hair long and strong!

Now people are pointing out that Beyonce is "mixed" and therefore does not have the typical "African" phenotype. Well, Oprah Winfrey has 88% African DNA; you can't get much more "African phenotype" than that. Oprah also has thick, waist length natural hair. Neither Beyonce nor Oprah are "average" Black women. They can afford daily stylist and the best hair care. However, both of these women prove that Black hair can retain length if treated with loving care. Don't hate. Celebrate. Black girls rock.

It's mostly other cultures who think black women can't grow long hair. I just think back to childhood days and I remember seeing young girls in school with the longest puffy ponytails. Then there are those who just need a little scalp stimulation to get it going. I remember how my mom would only straighten my hair on special occasions and the rest of the time I had French braids.

No! That’s why white people tan, own tanning salons, get surgery and wear wigs and hair extensions . THEY been doing this FOREVER! Way before we got on. It’s not a black thing, it’s a what society deems as beautiful thing.

The simple response to that you are African-American not 100% Sub-Saharan African. What does it mean to be African-American? it's not the same as someone with 100% Sub-Saharan African lineage. African- Americans are manifestations of predominantly African ancestry and other races, this shows up in our appearance.

I wish people would stop saying “genetics.” If you don’t take proper care of your hair no amount of genetics is going to help you retain length.

I am sorry but genetics does have something to do with it. Yes Beyonce is a proud black woman but take a dive into her family history you will see that she is truly Creole. Look up what that means in her case. Those genetics show up in her facial features, her skin tone and hair texture.

I don't know why it's so hard for ppl to believe black women have long hair. I come from a family where most of us have long hair and the ones who have short hair it's by choice. I think it's because some of us had our hair burned out by straightening combs and bad relaxer back in the day. We can all have long hair if we take care of it and some of it is genetics.

Avoiding the daily sprays, chemicals and curling irons is what keeps their hair healthy. You can't do that and go out to perform. Therefore, wigs become necessary.

Because they want to keep it.😂 Wigs are a protective style.When you’re in entertainment you have to have your hair styled and heat and products applied far to often…wigs help keep your hair healthy and protected and provide a way to change color and style without cutting or color damage.

Ever since the natural hair movement and black woman stopped putting relaxers and all those crazy chemicals, a lot of our hair is more healthier underneath these wigs. Our hair is high maintenance so of course we still wear wigs and get braids because caring for our natural hair everyday is a task on its own
@t.moniquenursem.5507
@t.moniquenursem.5507 Ай бұрын
Beyoncé always had hair . If you notice she wears box braids, different, braided hair styles throughout the years. When you wear wigs it takes off you processing your hair, burning out your hair with a flat iron in straightening comb. Not all women are baldheaded wigs, actually save your natural hair.❤
