After reading a lot of the comments here I felt compelled to mention that all the music from this era was like this. Really poppy vocals and melodies, but really edgy instrumentals with massive saw synths and creative dance beats. Think what you may but this was one of the best eras for music

This instrumental is catchy and ultra poppy and punchy. I don’t get darkness or density from it at all. I think most will say it feels “dark” because of the synthesizers. Those are the only heavy element in this. The Morse code beeps over the drums give it a robotic sound and the handclaps give it a jazzy/dance feel. Overall it sounds futuristic and upbeat. Beyoncé’s voice over the track doesn’t take away from it, it adds to it. Her sound is R&B, pop-party esq music so this fit. EDIT for spelling.
