Yes, the odd even thing bugs me too! Some non-dairy ice cream bar makers also package in 3s. I have two people in my family. Someone gets shorted the next dessert time. Not cool! lol :)

I like the new Beyond Steak. When seasoned with curry it tastes just like Jamaican curried goat. Would probably also make a good vegan lamb stew.

I understand completely about the 'rubbery' feeling. When I tried the tenders, I felt like I was biting into tough chicken, from what I remember(I've been vegan for many years). The texture was very off-putting for me, so I've not bought them again. I did like the breading a lot. I appreciate you all doing these review videos; they are some of my favorites on KZfaq, and I find I oftentimes agree 100% with your reviews.

Your opening complaint makes sense, and I've never noticed whether it's the same for animal chicken patties, or nuggets. As for the products, I tried the tenders many months ago, and immediately thought, "too much methylcellulose!" So I defied the instructions and steamed the tenders for about 4 minutes; it made the breading soggy, but the "meat" texture tender. Obviously, soggy chicken tenders are gack!, so I haven't bought the Beyond tenders since. Maybe they've changed the recipe? It was really obvious, uh, solidity. Thanks for posting : )

I've been away for too long apparently, how the heck did you get Andrew to eat mushrooms 😮 Personally I have yet to try the Beyond chk'n products. My go to has been the Gardein chkn original patties. Our Walmart doesn't sell the spicy ones. I was surprised when you said 8 minutes, and then I cracked up when I saw your expression after touching the center 😅 I cook the Gardein in our air fryer at 400° for 10 minutes, flip for 8 more minutes. My wife (non-vegetarian) was surprised at how similar it is to the chicken patties she eats. Now, time to find that 🍄 video!

Have you all tried the oui Coconut yogurt! They are in glass jars! Hands down the best non dairy yogurts! It’s smooth and has no weird taste to them. They come with fruit on the bottom. They have mango, raspberry, and strawberry!

@davidquinones1169 The Oui coconut yogurt comes in more flavors than just mango, raspberry and strawberry. There are vanilla and coconut flavors as well as the three flavors you mentioned.

I completely agree on the Beyond products taking longer to cook than package directions state. The Beyond popcorn chicken bag directions say 3 minutes in the air fryer; I usually air fry them 6/7 minutes. The times are so far off; I can’t believe they haven’t corrected them.

Love your videos! ❤ I like these a lot but for my son they are a little bit peppery and that's great for grownups but on the fence for kids. Impossible nuggets are a little more kid friendly neutral

As a person who was a vegetarian for 12 years, and eventually went back to eating meat, I'm really enjoying you guys' videos. I developed a taste for a lot of vegetarian foods and still eat a lot of them as I try to indulge sparingly for any number of reasons. But the thing about these vegetarian chicken patties in general is that even "real" chicken patties are so highly processed that none of them really taste like chicken very much. And like a lot of these products, they tend to perform their best when prepared in something. The chicken patties will probably be close to indistinguishable from the genuine article when slapped between a bun with some mayo or mustard. Likewise, a lot of the "ground beef substitute" tastes suspect if you just eat a handful, but if you make like a homemade hamburger helper or mix it into spaghetti sauce, it's suspiciously close to tasting like actual ground beef.

See if you can find Oui, Yoplait's plant based yogurt. It is not that expensive, considering it comes in glass instead of plastic. I have had the vanilla, raspberry, and mango, and they are more like dessert.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE: Add sugar percentages and salt percentages to what is in the food you try. I like how you read ingredients for allergies, calories, where to purchase, and even the aisles to find the food you try. I just wish you'd add the salt and sugar content to your videos which I binge watch. Some people have to watch their salt and sugar intake. Great, funny, videos! I don't even mind the long earlier ones as they are the ones that got me to subscribe. And, thank you for all the taste testing and different views of both of you!

Oh yeah, I forgot, selling ONLY 3 Gardein patties is VERY odd IMO. There was ONE time that they accidentally put 4 patties in the package. So I know 4 can fit inside 🤷🏽‍♂️

I know it tastes different from chicken, but I loveeee these. I do wish they were a little less firm though, and I wish the breading was stronger. Like if they were battered it would be a lot better

I love Beyond chicken nuggets in the oven, but they definitely get weird & rubbery in the microwave. Their cooking instructions definitely aren't quite right though, I agree. I've found that I need to cook them at a lower temperature for a longer amount of time to have them cook all the way through while still keeping them nice & juicy. That does seem to be the case with most packaged things, I've found. I wonder if it's an electric versus gas cooktop thing?

I typically go with Boca chicken patties for my sandwiches. Their price is much better, they do give you 4 to a package, and they have reg & spicy. Morning Star does as well (4 to a pkg & both varieties).

Qourn is da bomb especially the spicy chickn filet it reminds me of Popeyes and agreed. Beyond chickn is rubbery and doesn't taste too good, but the rest of their products are great. My fav is their breakfast sausage and steak tips.

I so can relate on the rubbery - ness of the tenders. I don't like them. What I really liked was their original "grilled chicken" they had out a few years ago. It was great for sooo many things and I have never found a decent replacement.

Probably “lost” a gram of protein per serving because with the added seasonings and salt they probably can’t justify the same amnt per serving? That’s usually the case. Those things have so much sodium!

I didn’t like the texture of the tenders. I haven’t tried the chicken patties yet. I agree that Gardein’s spicy chicken filets are too spicy and I couldn’t eat it. I gave them to my niece because she loves spicy food and she loved them. I like Impossible’s spicy chicken patty the best of the ones I’ve tasted.

I think it'd be nice if, at the end of each taste review, you just gave a flat buy-or-don't-buy, incorporating the cost. Like, if you bought something at $5, you could say, I wouldn't get these at $5, but I'd get them/recommend them at $3... something like that. ...And I agree that 3 patties is annoying. 4 or 5 is a better number, imo.

@1:41 What bothers me is that you presume you know the size of "most" families without a single bit of data to back it up, mad weak. At no point in the last 50 years has the avg Murikkkahn family size been 4. So that means without a doubt that "most" families are certainly not 4 people. But hey, facts should never get in the way of a rant about the number of nuggets in your sack.
