I like the idea of Empty Hand, Grant said that he's like bad intentions that enter our mind through media and in this comic's case Empty Hand enters comic through our mind because every time we read comics, we get completely indulged into it and that's how our horrors enter fictional world.

"We want u 2 be like us" - the Gentry. So it's making comics like the real world, when they're supposed to be better than the real world? I've also heard it described as the empty hand when you close a comic book and end the story. There was a hand a t the beginning to open the story, and an empty hand to close it, but you can always open it again.

Honestly IMO Empty Hand is one of the most interesting OP characters in a while.... Because He represents the hand of the reader when they put the comic book down and end up empty, hence the name Empty Hand! I LOVE this Dynamic more relatable meta Conceptual characters... And, TBH He is WAAAAY more interesting then anything like the Preasence or the plain Source...

You seemed to have glossed over the connection with Ultra. For those that don't know, Ultra Comics is the Empty Hand which is a metaphor for a bored reader. The Oblivion Machine is you getting bored reading and doing something else. The multiverse only ends when the Empty Hand decrees, because that's the same point you (the audience) would stop reading comic books.

It was established that the empty hand was each and every reader of the Multiversity comic when we close the book, so yeah like the one above all the empty hand is stupid powerful because it's the end of all characters story, the real creepy part of this series is the haunted comic book which is just a trap for the gentry and the empty hand, it urges you not to read it effectively ending the hero's story (but of course you read it until the end and the reader kinda saves the day, but the hero warns that the reader has been infected with the gentry. I love this 4th wall braking stuff.

As stated by others, the Empty Hand is possibly a representation of "Comic Books Fans". Maybe the hand is empty because if fans do not read comics, then the stories are cancelled, thus the multiverse being destroyed!

The presence is beyond classification. Dude's powerful and bored enough to plan his own murder multiple times. The empty hand is just weak. Remember, the presence is also the one above all. Meaning he's beyond Omniversal.

Multiverse 2 was likely the marvel universe, Secret Wars came out around that time and ended 616 and the ultimate line. What is the biggest threat to a character thats existence is based on you reading their comic? An empty hand.

If the presence was a comic stand in for the DC writers, then the Empty Hand is the physical manifestation of the reader when he finishes a story and closes the book longing for another story. Hence the phrase "my hand is empty"

The Empty Hand might be one of those characters they set up for sole purpose of being a reset button or the actual end of the comics. He may never show back up until DC has no stories left to tell and is done making comics.
