This month we present a special edition of Beyond our Borders, featuring the Farewell Flight of longtime United Airlines Chief pilot Pierre Frenay, who will say goodbye to colleagues and friends along his beloved “Island-Hopper” route through Micronesia.

I remember the name Pierre Frenay while working in MAJ from 2007 - 2012. Very well respected. I'd like to thank you, as the Chief Pilot during your 20+ years in Guam, for making sure our islands' needs were met when irregularities arose. Love the interviews at different stops and the backstory to your career. Happy Retirement and God Speed!

Congratulations, Chief pilot/Captain Frenay! Wow, what a life you've lived, and are going to live going forward. And your children are such an example of a job well done, too. You've actually been flying/working in one of my favorite parts of the world; the South Pacific is, as well. One of these days, I may actually get there. I lived in Europe for years, and so those areas remain on my bucket list. Happy retirement!

He is a base Chief pilot not the UAL system chief pilot but regardless he found the niche he liked which was guam and the milk run which I am sure was fun
