The amount of work that goes into a volunteer modding project like this is insane, not only are they recreating the entirety of Cyrodiil within Skyrim's timeline, but they're also adding an entire previously cut city. Massive props to the entire team for their efforts, and I cannot wait to get lost in Tamriel again when this is out.

yeah. 3D modelling, writing quests, writing lore, landscape designing, quest implementation in Creation Kit, Testing, Fixing. This is a 10 year project for sure. Not easy. Everything is done part time. Labor of love.

Using text-to-speech for the voices actually seems like a really convenient placeholder and I imagine a lot of game studios will go that route in the future

If they record enough voices using their voice actors, they can use AI tools for the rest

@@JT-hg7mj They could hire, say 20 or so voice actors to just read out some existing lines from Skyrim, then input that to ElevenLabs and let it create custom voice lines of the voice actors for the mod if they are unable to record all the hundreds or thousands of voice lines needed.

@@Jiub_SN I don't watch them because it's made with AI voice. I don't enjoy the idea of stealing someone's voice for your own gain. So, yeah... Especially cause you can get them to say anything you want, it could lead to some messed up controversies in the future.

They really get the feel of Sutch being the equivalent of a military base correct. From there being mostly members of the Imperial Legion there and their families as well as the new guys in an elite unit being heavily trained and sometimes having to do "initiations" and even voicing concerns of less ideal practices to the higher ups is very realistic and immersive. "Sutch" good writing here...

IIRC Sutch was scrapped because they had a limit of how many major cities they could support and they replaced it with Chorrol. Which makes sense because Sutch is already in the vicinity of Kvatch and Anvil.

Every time I see a Beyond Skyrim showcase, it just looks more incredible. Well done to the Cryodiil team so far. Also, re: the AI- this is understandable to use as a placeholder; I think that's totally fair.

Amazing progress!!! While it’s only a placeholder, the AI text to voice honestly doesn’t sound terrible. Seems like a great tool to help bring immersion to the game during testing

problem is that the AI does the same entonation, it basically reads the text but doesnt change the tone to convey things like anger or sadness, its just plain text to speech.

Love the idea of a rebuilt Sutch becoming an Imperial strongpoint on the border. Such (hehe) a welcome change from the run-down state of the Legion in Skyrim. Love the use of the Anvil (Gold-Goast) architecture. One question though, I'm not sure about the walls of the fort - there are some strange leftovers of a wooden palisade(?) sticking out halfway up the walls. They look weird and impractical from the military engineering point of view I think..

This is gorgeous. I'm glad to see Amatus, Cylandis, Thamis, Pretus and the others doing well for themselves (aside from the placeholder voices), and the Sutch puns living on. The sun-soaked Gold Coast region really looks good, in line with Skyrim's design but different.

remember remember, people always thing cut backs are "money reasons"... but remember the era. things were often cut down for SIZE. no infinite download back then. you had to fit the data on a disc.

What bothered me most in this video was not the AI voice acting, but the fact that neither the city/fort entrance nor the entrance to the upper level had a gate, although it is supposed to be a fort-like settlement.

You guys did "sutch" a good job on this, and I'm so glad u guys decided to bring back sutch to its full glory. Really get that roman Stronghold feeling. Kind of reminds me of that fortified town that spartacus captures,so great job. I'm excited to see the projects release, I have a question for the cyrodiil team: Will there be something in the mod be a full story or a couple of quests or even interactions about the emperors death and are their any plans or progress on the other imperial town cut from oblivion on the island of stirk ?

Yes, the full Cyrodiil release has all the guild and main questline content you would expect, including mages guilds, fighters guild, a political struggle, and a more metaphysical threat! We also have Stirk in game already as well level design wise.

It's just a placeholder. But the characters will only be voiced when everything else is final.

Starfield looks promising. I've heard that the beyond skyrim team isnt really dedicated and it most certainly wont be finished. Most likely, the only major beyond skyrim project (not atmora and roscrea) that will release is cyrodiil
