People are still modding morrowind and that game came out in 2004 . It's crazy how much dedication modders put into these games :)

Morrowind came out in 2002. Arena and Daggerfall are being reworked into open source engines and they came out even earlier. Look up Open TES Arena and Daggerfall Unity.

ToadWasTaken How long do you guys think this will take? Some of these projects will need a good 5 years before they're out. Are modders prepared to work for free that long? I'm afraid of these projects getting cancelled half way through for being too bold.

@@jon9428 they are in the voice acting stages for most of the eastern regions. and are modelling the creatures in. morrowind is the furthest along and got its pre-release area open

nomnom moon but...they're making whole tamriel: cyrodil, morrowind, high rock, atmora, hammerfell etc. Each province will have its own quests.

Antonio Carbone That's wrong. They aren't making all of Tamriel. Neither Valenwood nor Alinor are planned. But they do have a team working on Atmora, a whole other continent.

Their work on Bruma was spectacular and felt much closer to Morrowind (ie. the game) in terms of quality of writing and quests. I'm very excited to see what else they come up with.

bethesda is okay with project like this, but their support for this big project mods kinda...not like others big dev out there if I recalled there is certain dev that is great bond with modding community to improve their game, in term of replay value, adding what the community want, fixing the minor bugs together.

Just imagine, in a few years after everyone has played and is probably disappointed with TES VI we can return to not just Skyrim but the entirety of Tamriel in TES V... Great job to everyone on the beyond Skyrim team, you make all is filthy N'wah's proud to be a part of such an amazing community.

Well, ESVI won't be out until 2024 at the earliest, though 2027 seems more likely. We'll have a brand new engine by then, though, so eh.

Spas Delev better engine often means better graphics, especially if the game doesn't release until 2022. The game will definitely look better than Skyrim by then, and probably better than most Webb's as well. And even if it doesn't, there will be new ENBs.

What I love the most about the Beyond Skyrim mods is that they continue the story of Skyrim in a lore friendly way.

Well they are based on the canon, so until an official game show Morrowind post disaster, this is how we should assume it would look like.

Well kind of, I am not calling it official canon, its just a representation of the canon (i.e Morrowind being destroyed in canon, and this is their artists interpretation of what it *could* look like).

The ministry of truth crashed into Vice city and the impact began the red year. From what I understand it's just a huge hot magma crater that's left now.

Ok I didn't know that. I knew the ministry fell but I imagined that it only crashed the place and some of the rock formations from the volcano also hit the city, but I always thought that there would at least be some ruins.

The Ministry of Truth obliterated the entire city. As I understand everything from Vivec all the way to Ebonheart was destroyed and is now a boiling, multicolored churning sea.

But the ministry wasn't that big back in Morrowind and not even high enough so that the impact would create a strong enough shock wave to affect the city. Based on its size and it's height, it couldn't have possibly destroyed more than the palace of Vivec and the 2 closest cantons.

By the time all of Tamriel is finished, this will probably be the first modded collaboration, with literally thousands (maybe tens of thousands although that might be pushing it) of hours of content if you were to try to complete all of tamriel (including the outlying islands and continents) 100% of everything Skyrim/Beyond Skyrim in General is like climbing Mt. Everest on Earth to the top (or the Throat of the World, if it would take longer to climb!). Their won't be anything like it when all is set and done. Don't give up Beyond Skyrim, your giving the world something almost nobody else will be able to achieve out their with the scale of this project if this can happen.

I am talking about the entire collaboration, what your mentioning is for one province of content. Keep in mind, Skyrim itself is about that much content in hours if you go 100% about. Times that by each province (Valenwood/Elsweyr might not be as long as they are smaller provinces) should average around 200 hours of content I hope, and were looking at with all 9 provinces (8 except Skyrim) and it would average minimum around 1600-2000 hours (this is probably would be minimum in total it could be far more) of content, thats how insane this collaboration is. Then you also got Atmora and Roscrea getting released and thats more dozens of hours of content on top of the tamriel provinces these guys are making! Its a really great time to be an elder scrolls fan!

Strict112 Valenwood (and Alinor) won't be made in BS, but I agree. The amount of content there will be in BS is outlandish since their team is actually pretty big (and organized). They have separate teams working on separate provinces. and 3 of those provinces are behemoths in size comparison to skyrim.

They haven't said they were not going to make those two provinces, they are not sure if their members (or if they get a new team of people) will be up to taking on those two provinces once one or two of the BS projects get done because of the technical obstacles within the Creation Engine. I do hope these two projects do happen but it will be a long ways off until we hear about anything.

Valenwood was the first, but once technical limitations arose, it eventually was stalled and is not in development. Alinor isn't in development either. This is all volunteer work as well, so unless someone successfully gets a project outline and a team of dedicated members, it's highly unlikely we'll be seeing either place on a last-gen game.

Is it possible to go around these technical limitations by making a non-lore way with these provinces (new creation) within the limitation of the engine? Sometimes going this route might be the best solution for now, at a later date maybe somebody could figure out how to do the lore way that BS wants to do with the province once they know how to get around the limitation.

in morrowind lore the dark elves have a hatred for vampires so maybe there is another vampire faction that knows you joined the dawnguard and they ask like for the dawnguard and there guild to team up to stop the vampire clans of morrowind

It will be proportional to Skyrim. That being said, the province of Morrowind is already massive.

Pedro Henrique Souto Gueiros Proportional to Skyrim, but Morrowind as a whole, with Vvardenfell, the handful of islands that skirt the Sea of Ghosts around Vvardenfell, and mainland Morrowind make it bigger than Skyrim, and I've heard that we've got one of the bigger world spaces compared to the other projects. -Your average asset creator for the team

you've got to remember that the scale of Tamriel in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim is actually roughly the same. Its just the map sizes that vary depending on the province you can explore. What makes Morrowind seem bigger is your initial running speed, and the fact that you can barely see 20ft in front of you

Akavir would be difficult because there is not a lot of lore on it yet besides it has four beast races and that anybody who goes there basically gets killed or eaten by the races.

For Tamriel, they're working on Cyrodiil, Morrowind, Iliac Bay (High Rock & Hammerfell), Black Marsh, and Elsweyr, but NOT Valenwood or Alinor (Summerset Isles). For Atmora, they're doing at least some of the mainland and the island of Roscrea.

I think its a big legal thing, they likely cant directly help or support but simple exposure like "Holy shit! look at what the modders are doing now?" is about as far as they can really go.

This will take place at the same time as Skyrim. You will be able to take your character from the base game across the border, into Morrowind.

Skywind is a remake of TES III Morrowind, with the same quests, NPCs, and locations. This is a game-sized addon that adds the whole province of Morrowind (Vvardenfell and the mainland) contemporary with the events of Skyrim. This means new quests, NPCs, locations and more
