I keep revisiting this video, something about the lich's speech and the music combo is just addicting dude, it's really well made Even though the lich is literally the negative in a physical form whose sole intention is to destroy (it seems) as an agent of darkness merely because there needs to be the "bad" for there to be the "good" or what have you, it's like the speech stands to represent something that is timeless and far beyond the conflict of one giant-one-horned-skeleton and bear-hat-warrior-boy, like Time waits out all things, Nature is patient and in Nature their is always the re-calibration, Nature is always working to balance itself (it seems to me), but beyond all, Nature is what we've come out of, and is what we'll eventually return to, be it by choice or in this case by the attempts of a Lich. Yet at the same time, immediately after this speech, instead of destruction, it's creation that saves fin, he creates a new life form by "healing" the lich with the magic goop, and sweet pea stands to reflect the pureness that the lich lacked entirely, it's very wild

Something I love about the lich, as a fan of cosmic horror, is how cleanly he embodies the ideals of cosmic horror in this world he inhabits, and Ron Pearlmans voice just brings it all together perfectly. The lich was once human, maybe. Speculation tells us he was once a cosmic comet who studied under or was created by Golb, he crashed into the earth, annihilating the dinosaurs and resetting the cycle of life, perhaps the impact was glancing, but for whatever reason, he failed. But the bomb, made by humans 67 million years later had pieces of this primordial entity in it, and mankind would have no idea just how dangerous a weapon they made, dabbling with forces far beyond their control. And they reset the cycle again, blasting a massive chunk out of the earth, and the lich taking the body of a human there, maybe a cultist or random bystander, or early king who claimed pieces of the meteor left over by the bomb. this became the host of the lich. The lich represents a sapient death. The natural order of the universe for 13 billion years was lifeless, sterile worlds all throughout, but then life comes, it brutally and viciously feasts upon one another just for its survival, then it drains resources from the world itself and the lich was disgusted. the lich is entropy given form, defending the natural order of the universe to descend into chaos, while life defies this order, organizing the universe. Entropy is inevitable, it is beyond our ability to stop, beyond strength. It doesn't care who you are, what you've done, what you could become, it comes for us all. The lich would kill the earth so the universe would lay silent until the heat death. Finns war against the lich is life defying the law of entropy. While finn keeps winning after close shave after close shave, eventually, finn will die. The lich will not. More heroes maybe? They will die too. No matter how many times you stop the lich, you've never won. He is timeless, beyond strength, and he has come for us all. And eventually, whether it be tomorrow or a billion years from now, he *will* win.
