Against a backdrop of violence and murder associated with the drug war, a motorcyclist (Sterling Noren) heads out on a journey to explore Mexico all alone. He is a solo filmmaker with no support, no back up plan and no reservations. His goal is to survive the challenges of riding alone in Mexico, document the journey on film, and find a story about life in Mexico that isn't full of violence and despair.
He encounters many difficulties on the 3,000 mile expedition across rugged terrain and bad roads, and the journey becomes a true story of friendships, fears and challenges. The adventure ultimately leads to the discovery of a hidden tribe (The Raramuri), an epic race (the Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon) and a living legend (Caballo Blanco).

My birthday gift to my daughter, when she turned 16, was her first bike with the proviso that she pass the Basic Riding Course of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) first. I strongly encourage all parents to make participation in the MSF course part of their youngsters' motorcycle learning experience. Thank you for being a great role model for my daughter too, Amanda.

Even today what a great story. I met Coco in April 2017. Was honored to have met the man and humbled beyond belief. Went to Cabo and back on the GSA but not as adventurous as you but did see some off-road. The people were as wonderful and giving then as they were with you. Looking forward to going back once all the Covid is over.

I rode that road south of Puertecitos a year ago (07 KLR 650) A hurricane had washed out much of the new road so it was a mess. Nice lady at the store in Puertecitos. Somehow I missed Coco's. It was cold, windy and getting dark. I'll be back next Spring.

Awesome movie thanks for sharing! In 99, I drove a truck solo all the way down Baja, and then took the ferry over to the mainland. I spent several weeks in Baja, and really enjoyed it. I ended up meeting my wife in Mazatlan. Then 19 years later, December of 2018, I flew my grandson from Mazatlan to Tijuana, and we road 2 up down to La Paz. Then took the ferry to Mazatlan. We stopped in San Felipe, chatted with Coco, and enjoyed San Ignacio. We mostly took paved roads when we could, but it was a great experience for both of us. I hope your journey can motivate others to get out of their comfort zone and go travel. I loved my solo trip, but if you can find someone to share the journey with, it's even better.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I agree with you thats it more enjoyable with another person or even a few, but solo travel has its own rewards that are untouchable - especially the way it pushes your boundaries and teaches you new things you wouldn't learn with other people.

Thank you Sterling for making this video I´ve learned a lot more from it than with the very little information we have about it right here in Mexico, I specially thank you for being honest with your experience about Mexicans which is so bad in the USA because the only thing the media talks is about what´s wrong, but as you know this is true of all countries, I mean good and bad people.

I loved it - and the story that arose from the natives and the Ultramarathon was fantastic. Just goes to show you don't need a fully kitted, late edition adventure bike and drones and various Go Pros to convey an adventure :) Well done!

I put 3300 miles deep in Mexico on a Yamaha XT225 in 2009. I had the time of my life. Cross the border with full tank, and don’t stop till you a couple hundred miles away from the border. I had the time of my life. The people are great in Mexico. I was in little Mexican towns up in the mountains, to large cities. The food was the best! At 23:00 when he dumps it. That’s the reason you travel on a small motorcycle that your feet can touch the ground. After my XT225 I bought a KLR650. I’ve ended up in the same situation he was in here, with my wife on the back a couple of times. Had the same results too.

@Leon Wood small bikes have small fuel tanks (range anxiety), and are slow on hiways. perhaps putting bigger and bigger rocks underneath the bike, to avoid doing complete lift many times, perhaps stronger branch of tree as a leverage, perhaps cleaning that road a bit, if it's that crappy for short.....

Excellent video about adventure motorcycling and humanity. Sterling's search to prove a powerful theory about the core of the human heart and soul comes to life before your eyes. What a brave and enlightening experience. Thank you Sterling.

You are a very talented filmmaker. I loved watching your Mexico motorcycle Adventure. The soft 1970's film look is awesome and works well with the Mexican landscape. Great storytelling, narration and choice of music.📹🏍+🌵🇲🇽=❤️

Well done! Thank you for this look into rural Mexico, lovely place and people. Hopefully it has remained this way. I have had the pleasure(?) of lifting my unladen F650 on a side hill, once a day is plenty!

Incredible video/story I’m really glad that you had a wonderful time down here in Mexico. The Tarahumaras are one of many hidden secrets that our culture has to offer... I’m glad to see so many Goo-hearted Americans interested in my country, it definitely puts a whole new perspective for our relationship as neighboring countries. Saludos!
