Once pupils have grasped the basics of phonics, we can then build on their progress and help them to develop fluency in their reading. This guidance is for developing fluency for pupils in key stages 1 and 2 who have met the standard of the phonics screening check but struggle to develop fluency in their reading and are at risk of falling behind.
The film is based on guidance from our Reading framework: teaching the foundations of literacy.
