I set my Canon D600 (T3i) to 1/1000 and one Yongnuo on the hotshoe set at 1/1 and pointing at another Yongnuo on the hotshoe set at 1/1 in 'slave mode'. Both of the lights fired, but I still got the dreaded 'black bar' in the photo. Ideas?

thanks, great if you can't afford specialty flashes. Regards to Canon the 430ex and upward i believe all have HSS options built in.

hello andrew thank you for your tutorial. I would like to know how to photograph in metal things with high reflection without any studio light or any source.

Andrew, just saw your youtube video on breaking the flash sync speed (part 2). The Nikon SB-600 also has the capability to be a slave remote flash to be triggered by another other flash remotely. Just press on the 'Zoom' and 'Minus sign' together for 3 secs, and it will come up with the remote option, there u can set the remote slave flash to ON.

Hi again. Thought I'd see how this worked with studio lights, I set a 600ws studio light on slave sensor and put a Neewer flash on my camera. Using the Neewer at full power all worked well at 1/5000. Then I dialed the studio flash down as low as 1/32 power and it still worked. Then I tried dialing the on camera flash down to 1/8 power and it still worked. No banding at all.

Hi Andrew , its always a pleasure and honor to watch your videos. Tutorials are super helpful and i see a lot of improvements on my shots. I am a great fan of marine biology and often sail in the Pacific and aquariums too. I always have hard time beating the glare from the ocean , i have used polarized filter but i think the quality of my lens is reduces,Lastly how do i take great photos in an aquarium reduce the glare. --Cheers !
