I am not sure what Grace is talking about. Cavill is the lead just as Brad Pitt is the lead of the ensemble in Inglorious Basterds or George Clooney in the Ocean's films. I enjoyed this film. Inglorious Basterds light, but still a good time.

Just saw it, Cavill’s in the whole thing, sure it’s not JUST him cause it’s an ensemble cast, but Eiza and Babs are not made out to be the sole leads even though they’re heavily featured. And Eiza is literally in five scenes with Henry. Yeah they don’t go into their love story but that’s not what the movie was about and actually kinda refreshing. But Henry is definitely still lead here. And does real well as. Overall 8.5/10
@Spiderstan727
@Spiderstan727 Ай бұрын
It’s weird that Grace puts such an emphasis on “Cavill barely being in the movie”. So what if he’s not in every single minute, he’s still clearly the main character and plot A Protagonist. Eliza’s the plot B protagonist and you could say gets better dialogue and character development but Cavill’s still very much front and center.

Just watched it and it was so good! Henry is definitely the lead and in nearly the whole movie. It's like she's intentionally trying to trash him. She must have something against him saying his "career is dying" yeah right it is.

The true stars of this movie are Alan Ritchson, Eiza and Babs, the others don't nearly get much else to do except for shooting guns and being the comic relief (especially Cavill). He's mostly just the face and he makes a few jokes. They try to sell him as the Mastermind, but really, all the big plans are orchestrated by the people around him and all he does is agree with them and gets everyone together. Alan gets most of the action, Alex gets to be the idea guy, whilst Eiza and Babs lay all the ground work on the island as well as dealing the final blow. Loved the movie but I most definitely question how one can be in the lead role and yet have the least amount to do. It's quite an achievement. 😂

Ok, seriously Grace, you're very disingenuous here. I just got out of an early screening. There are 3 "storylines" in the film, Henry leads one, and was in at least 50% of the movie if not more. Also, this is a Guy Richie movie, so the ensemble is very well used. My audience loved it, was laughing throughout and stayed focus the entire time. May our attention spans are better in Texas, lol

Interesting. Thanks for the recommendation. They say the British needed a certain amount of "tonnage" to be shipped in, if it was to survive and keep fighting. The Battle of the Atlantic was about depriving Britain of imports by subs targeting ships and convoys. This sounds like Ukraine today. But I don't know what would have been the breaking point. A German invasion of Britain would have cost the former a lot, if it could even have been done, but they went to war with the Soviet Union instead!

To me it was a fun popcorn movie that has fun with the story, when I saw this I felt like besides the historical background this movie took liberties with the story and that wasn’t a bad thing cause I never felt it trying to be accurate but just give the main points of history in the film. If you love action/adventure/ war/ or movies bad in history you will love this movie, but if you want a in-depth movie it’s not for you. I had fun with the film and even though it hasn’t as good as his other classics it’s still Ritchie one of the best movies he has done, as I had enjoyed with the film and keep out feeling like it was a popcorn movie which wasn’t a bad thing here

They're not going to cast Cavill as Bond, for the very same reason they've recast superman, They're looking for someone who can play the role for upto 15 years. White Cavill fits that role now, in 15 years he won't.

I clicked on this review purely to see if Cavil has stopped getting the “guest star” treatment. The first few seconds answer my question. 🤦🏾‍♀️

You can’t subvert audience expectations by switching out leading characters 20 minutes into the movie; that’s a big no-no. Henry Cavill often appears in these movies with disappointing setups, like "Argylle." It seems like British filmmakers are exploiting him. Eventually, audiences will notice the pattern and anticipate it from the trailers, choosing not to see the movie in theaters. We shouldn't accept Netflix-quality storytelling on the big screen.

To be fair Grace is the only one saying this. Harloff’s out of theatre review is basically if you like the trailer you will like the film

All last year and the start of this one, it's the first time back to the theater for many people. Why can't/won't they release some movies worth seeing?

Wow, what the heck is going on with Cavill's career. And with Hollywood with the ridiculous amount of false advertising! Thats two movies I'll add to my streaming list instead of seeing in theaters because the marketing department can't be honest about the movie. Happy to hear Ritchson does well in the film. But it's just shocking that him and Cavill aren't the main stars when they are blown up on every poster for this thing. Henry Golding also having a really small role also disappointing.

Thanks for the review Grace, if you want to try a TV series that does this setup better look up SAS Rogue Heroes.

Uhhhh grace, wasn’t it you last year that advocated for movie studio to trick their audience into with one trailer but have their movie about something rlse?

The movie was ok but more serious than the ads suggested. There were only 1 or 2 bad guys and it didn't really show them doing anything. The rest were Germans basically standing around waiting to be killed. You don't really get to know the "heroes". The introductions of the heroes is someone telling us "This is ______ , they do this___".

Just got out of seeing the movie twice and Cavill is definitely in the film about 65%-70% of the film because you plot A and Plot B. A. being about Cavill and his crew and B. Being about Eliza’s character. It’s a super fun watch, this review for Grace feels very out of touch. Almost as if she didn’t really see the film.
