That’s the effect of the Propeller pushing you in one direction. Like a helicopter spinning out of control if it looses its tail section. You have to counter it. Trimming your aircrafts controls will make this “countering” easier. The Simulator mode needs a bit of an introduction to get into it that WT sadly doesn’t offer. But the community has your back covered. Search for our WarThunderSim Reddit or the WingalingDragon Server on Discord. There you will find all information you need as a beginner to start your journey into the Simulator Mode. It’s worth it!

You have to apply aileron trim and keep in mind that the BF109 can only be trimmed in test fight mode (for its ailerons). There’s no aileron trim during battle in sim mode. So, go into test flight mode, apply aileron trim to the right about 8 clicks. Use the “save trim position” option and then you’ll have that trim saved for when you go into sim battle. Also, when taking off in a 109, you’ll want to start applying right rudder immediately as the bird gets off its back wheel to counter the torque and tipping your left wing into the tarmac. Takes some getting use to. Btw, even after trimming you will still roll. Just less at higher air speeds, so that makes cruising more “hands free”.

don’t try to counter that with trim!!! that’s what the rudder is for

There are certainly some problems that have to be addressed but as the game is free to play I don’t feel like complaining too much about it. I mean… sure, there are situations in which even I can’t help myself but rage quick. Like when server lag interferes in a good dogfight… But as long as it doesn’t happen too often I can live with it 🙃

I went with the MK 108

It has a internal 20 mm plus machine guns and it can be outfitted with x2 extra wing mounted 20 mm it's a beast has a big chance to hit

@sniperschiavo with the 109 K4 you can choose between the Mg 151 (20mm) or the Mk 108 (30mm). It's been some time that I've seen someone use the 108 as it can be difficult to aim

I have it unlocked I think I used vertical aiming to help with that

The 30mm can be challenging in dogfights, but a single 20mm is a pain against well armored bombers and heavy fighters at this BR, that’s why I usually go for the 108. After a while one gets used to it. Keeping a strict trigger discipline and shooting as late as possible when approaching a target is the key to make the low ammunition amount count.

I play on PS5 with nothing more than the DualSense Controller

War thunder has one of the easiest if not THE EASIEST joystick setups of any game I've messed with. There are pretty much presets for every joystick you can find, especially if you just read through the WT forums a little. Optionally you can use the joystick setup wizard in the control menu but I'd save a backup of your controls first cause it messes all the keybinds up usually (but it tends to set the joystick axis sensitivities pretty decently)
