With the announcement of BF4, I have decided to end this video series here. I take a look at sniper rifles and how to set them up for some great killing at all ranges. Hope you learn something from it. Look for some more gaming videos in the fall when BF4 is released. Until then, I plan to start up my new real life shooting video series in the near future when I can make it out to the range. I will be doing more real life scenario shoots at unknown distances to try and improve that element of long range skills.
Note: Don't bother trying to friend list me in game. There is now a 100 friend cap and I'm already full...sorry.

That series is on hold...possibly for many years. I don't have time to shoot competitions. However I plan to start a new series this summer shooting practical stuff that is much more open ended at unknown distances. Sniper style I guess.

Agreed, With this video out of the way...and spring is finally here, I can start working on using real guns more often. Time to start thinking about production of my next series of shooting videos.

Several people have said that. I think it was 4x in the beta and they changed it down to 6x for the game. I haven't actually tested the theory though since I made this video. Didn't I put an anotation on that?

This is a really great tutorial for those who want to use the Recon Class more effectively. It really frustrates me when I'm the only good sniper that I encounter, because everyone else never uses the Recon Class very effectively, basically giving me free headshots. This makes it easier for me to get kills, but it reduces the fun of it because of the lack of challenge. Hopefully, people will start using snipers more often, and I'll get a challenge, and a decent sniper squad member!

I love how to internet connection gives you funny kills... like when you get a head shot and 2 seconds later the rag doll animation occurs xD

Best BF game depends on criteria. There are many things I miss from BF2...like the commander and dropping ammo crates. However there are also many upgrades that I really liked later in the series. So far BF3 is my favorite. Mainly for the long range maps, foliage that can hide your position, you can change optics on your rifle, and sniping to 3250m is actually possible. Yes I will be playing BF4, I'm trying to figure out what video card to get, since I am a little out of date with this one.

I watched you all the way back when bf3 wasnt out before you i was a cod fanboy and i didnt think that sniper bullets had drop.Thanks now im a pretty descent sniper:)

I totally agree with you there. Typically I only use the M98 with suppressor on the short range maps where bullet speed and drop are not so important, and stealth is critical. That may not have been said in the video.

just wanted to let you know, I enjoyed your videos just to watch something different then normal precission shooting videos on youtube. I also played bf3 but underutilised the recon class because my team for some reason always was low on guys who are not afraid to die. I enjoyed your video-series on how you approached the recon class. I still miss ranging techniqes for solid firstshot hits without having a need for rangingshots but it seems with your success it does not rly matter. keep it up

Yeah I'm pretty stoked about the commander mode, although I have this funny feeling that it will not be implemented the same way. It sounds like it will be a server admin selection. Hopefully they keep it true and BF2 style and don't mess it up. A good commander in BF2 could easily make the difference between winning and losing.

I have been playing with recording BF4 BETA in spectator mode and some game play. I am having huge frame rate problems that don't seem to be video card related because I get similar FPS whether I am using ultra or low settings. I think its the physics engine that needs some tweaking before release. I get 30-70 FPS while playing, but fraps recording drops down to 2-10 fps with massive hick ups and crashes all the time. I plan to post some of the good that I have accomplished later this week.

Back when I was playing ArmA I was thinking about doing it. But then everyone I was playing with left to find other games and ArmA died out. I really like the simulation, but the following of that game is much smaller. And now I really don't have the time to pick up a new game and make a new series.

I don't make enough videos to stay at the top of any charts. I'm too sparatic in my uploads so I gain and lose viewers and subs all the time. There is just not enough time in the day to do it all.

Awww it´s aweful to hear that. ArmA 3 Alpha is getting a little famous and with it´s new survival (not Day-Z) game mode...you get my meaning? Anyway awesome vids they´ve really helped me hone my accuracy, especaily at long ranges, though it´s hard to get many kills since i play in console :/. Cheers.

On HC servers a torso hit will usually also be a 1 shot kill.

I have heard this from others as well, I am wondering if they changed it at some point. I am sure that once upon a time it was 4X and higher. Unless its a difference between PC and consoles.

to me it doesnt make much sense to use m98b with a suppressor. All Boltactions drop to 310m/s so the m98b loses its most important advantage. Maybe in HC the little more damage makes a bigger difference? Im mostly playing normal. great video though as always, love your sniper school since my early bf2 days :)
