Ken McCorry’s PRR
Ken Mccorry's HO scale Pennsylvania Railroad is the biggest home layout in the US. It has three levels and fantastic scenery. Operating signals. Mostly diesels with a few steam engines. NCE DCC controls. Ops sessions require 30 people to operate. Layout is on the 2nd floor of a barn size garage with the dispatcher located on the 1st floor. Ken was featured in Model Railroader in December 2004 and April 1999 and Model Railroad Craftsman in March 1988.
Mineral Springs Yd in Buffalo NY. Passed the following trains: South Buffalo Railroad in Babcost NY, PRR in Ebenezer NY, EL in Machias, NY, PRR in Keating Summit, PA, PRR Drury, PA, Reading in East Allens, PRR in North Umberland and PRR in Millersburg.

It's videos like this one that keep me up all night on KZfaq (it's 4:47 AM)! SUPERB LAYOUT!! The level of detail is stunning and inspiring. Thank you Mr. Fagan for sharing this masterpiece with us. Now I must watch model railway videos from the UK before going to bed.

This is too much! The size, detail, complexity, accuracy, etc. I just can't comprehend, in my walnut brain, how projects like these are possible. I just watch and drool when I see layouts like this! Phenomenal!

This ride was amazing, each level it's own experience, the track work, use of trees and of course painting the floor joist gave a feel of realism as I enjoyed my front row seat. Fine video, really enjoyed it.

Ken McCorry : Thanks for your reply. I must admit I am watching these again and thoroughly enjoying your operations. 25 years well spent in my humble opinion. Your industrial scenes are beautifully modelled. Mark you, everything is beautifully modelled. There's a real sense of purpose to the layout. Cheers.

What's to say but incredible! There are a few little things I don't get about train guys, having all sorts of power poles as the real world does but, no power lines for them?? Would it not look more realistic to have said power lines or is this just something yet to be done? I see quite a bit on videos like this is all I'm saying. I don't have trains, I design & create RC Replicas, so please, no offense intended, it's an incredible layout & I especially appreciate your attention to detailling & backdrops etc. The video quality is not great but I would rather see your amazing labor of love this way than not at all, deepest respect for a job extremely well done overall & ty for sharing it with us.

When a person reaches for an inevitably derailed piece of rolling stock, you can watch all the pole lines cascade like dominoes. Now do you understand why "no lines"??

Awesome layout and love the Pennsy! One suggestion......lose the round headed nails down the track center line. There are better ways to hold down track. They just ruin an otherwise great layout.

Yes, given the unimaginable effort put in, I would have thought that straight straights would have been so easy - the wobbling track becomes distracting. Nevertheless, nothing less than a work of art.

W O W ... I LOVED THIS LAYOUT. IT WAS THE MOST MASSIVE ONE I HAVE WATCHED. IT IS WELL WORTH WATCHING. QUESTIONS, HOW MANY CARS, LOCOMOTIVES AND SWITCHES ARE IN THE LAYOUT AND WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE LAYOUT??? WHERE IS THIS LOCATED???? IS THIS OWNED BY A CLUB OR A PRIVATE LAYOUT ???? I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE OF THIS. THANKS FOR POSTING. GOOD JOB. GOOD WORK. SUPER FANTASTIC. THE BEST

I can only imagine the cost and time put into this layout and models that run on it? I'm guessing Thousands and thousands of dollars. That is why I keep my collection to a dozen Locomotives and couple of dozen rolling stock and run my models at a Railway Club. Use their power and expertise to improve on my stock

Jerry Davis I'm planning on building a layout(HO scale)albeit no where as large as this (11x 11room on modular tables)is, but I plan on keeping my HO club membership. I haven't counted, but I'm probably up to easily 20+ locomotives and I see how easy it is to continue buying. There's more Amtrak that I want, I like having pairs of diesels so dual Canadian Pacific, CN and either another BNSF locomotive or Santa Fe to go with my BNSF SD70ACe. So I've been on a buying spree since returning to the hobby in 2011 between HO and O scales. I totally understand your point, but this hobby is addictive!

I've seen three, maybe four, videos of Ken's layout and have yet to see any passenger trains. I know there was at least one in each direction for the era he models between Buffalo and D.C. or Philly. So, why, Ken, and when?

Herky jerky RR. I hate wobbly track work but no one seems to get it straight. Real railroads do though. There are a lot of good parts and the obvious amount of hard work and planning. The one thing I never like to see is crooked track and signals that aren't straight. Interesting that when you see an area that has four six or eight tracks and there's just nothing there. I guess that happens in the real world but it's kind of hokey looking. At least put 15 or 20 box car sitting there or stage a couple trains or something . Anyway it's your layout you can do what you want and I do appreciate you sharing this video Yeah I know I know where is my layout well I don't go putting videos up on KZfaq for scrutiny if you're going to put one up expect it. My hat's off to the Builder it's an excellent lay out overall it just needs a little bit of detailing here and there. Some of it is absolutely excellent and most of it is at least very good so please accept that as a compliment.

I'm not a fan of multi level layouts, it's hard enough to make any train in ho scale look small in scale alone leaving a space in between of 18-24 inches, I'm modeling PRR horseshoe curve, it real hard to make a centipede look small on the back of a coal train pushing ,my curve inside rail 9 ft across by 20 ft long with Bennington curve after that it's about 8 ft across 10ft long any tighter and you loose that look of nature's massiveness, to me a better thought about realism rather than 200 ft long trains
